vivo reaches agreement with Nokia in patent disputes

vivo and Nokia have signed a joint licensing agreement, resolving their patent disputes. This also paves the way for vivo to return to the German smartphone market!

vivo x Nokia

We recently reported on this  License agreement between OPPO and Nokia , and now vivo also announces that it has reached an agreement with Nokia. Similar to the deal with OPPO, the agreement revolves around 5G standards, the violation of which led to the withdrawal of both vivo and OPPO from the German smartphone market.

Vivo, like OPPO, was part of BBK Electronics, a large group that bundled various smartphone brands. Last summer, BBK Electronics was dissolved, making vivo and OPPO independent companies.

It is still uncertain when vivo smartphones will be available on the German market again. vivo's German website still indicates that sales have stopped, but an early return seems possible. OPPO has shown the way with its subsidiary brand OnePlus, which within a week of announcing the agreement with the new one  OnePlus 12 and other devices started in Germany .

With the vivo X100 Pro, vivo is also bringing a new flagship smartphone, which was launched globally a few weeks ago and is already available in Austria and other European countries. The smartphone uses, among other things, the powerful Dimensity 9300 chipset from MediaTek and uses a triple camera system with ZEISS optics. We are definitely excited to see what awaits us in the coming weeks!
