With the ADO Air 28, ADO presents an e-bike that masters the balancing act between design and suitability for everyday use. The classic look of a Dutch bike is combined with modern technologies such as belt drive and app connection. But what is actually behind the ADO Air 28?

ADO Air 28: Focus on ride comfort

The ADO Air 28 presents itself as a fresh interpretation of the classic Dutch bike and focuses on comfort and elegance. Designed as a low-entry vehicle, it makes it easier to get on and off, which is an indispensable advantage, especially in urban traffic. Aesthetically, the bike offers gray, blue and bright yellow options, so there's something to suit every taste.

With a weight of 21,5 kg and a maximum load capacity of 120 kg, the Air 28 is robust enough for everyday use without being a heavyweight. The elegantly designed frame is just one of the many aspects that underline the driving comfort. Voluminous 700x45c tires, a lockable suspension fork and a wide and soft saddle help the bike excel on different types of terrain.

The equipment also leaves little to be desired. A pre-assembled luggage rack, mudguards and a stand are included as standard, making additional investment in these components unnecessary. The handlebars, similar to a traditional Dutch bike, are bent towards the rider, improving the seating position and thus also ergonomics. As a special detail, the ends of the handlebars are covered with imitation leather, which enhances both the design and the grip.

ADO Air 28: Low-maintenance belt drive

The ADO Air 28 has a belt drive, which is considered particularly low-maintenance. The belt should last up to 30.000 km, which should have a positive effect on the overall operating costs of the e-bike. Since it is a single-speed bike, i.e. without gears, there is no maintenance required.

However, the single-speed configuration has its pitfalls. With many e-bikes of this type, the gear ratio is a real bottleneck. Anyone who tries to ride at high speed will quickly notice a high cadence. This can be tiring in the long run and is certainly not for everyone.

However, according to initial test reports, the ADO Air 28 has mastered this challenge well. It should be possible to accelerate the e-bike up to 25 km/h without your legs becoming a propeller. But be careful: the limit is reached at a speed of around 28 km/h, beyond which it becomes difficult to drive faster without excessive effort.

However, in the context of urban mobility, for which the ADO Air 28 was primarily designed, these speed restrictions should not be a major obstacle for most users. However, if you plan to travel longer distances or in hilly terrain with your e-bike, you should take this point into account when considering your purchase.

ADO Air 28: Mivice motor and hydraulic disc brakes

The Mivice motor installed in the ADO Air 28, with an output of 250 watts, complies with the laws in force in Germany and many other European countries. With five levels of assistance, the motor offers a degree of flexibility to suit riders' individual needs. A torque of 37 Nm speaks for solid performance, especially in urban environments and on flat terrain.

The integration of a torque sensor is interesting. This adapts the motor support to the force of the pedal stroke and the cadence. This ensures a more natural driving experience, as the support does not start abruptly, but rather fits harmoniously into your personal driving behavior.

Hydraulic disc brakes ensure the necessary safety when braking. These offer the advantage of precise braking performance, which can be particularly important in critical situations or on wet roads.

Another highlight of the ADO Air 28 is its 345 Wh battery, which has been cleverly integrated into the seat post. This placement not only ensures a slim silhouette of the e-bike, but also enables flexible charging. The battery can be charged either directly on the bike or in your own home after removing the seat post.

Security is not overlooked: a lock protects the battery and thus also the saddle from theft. Quality comes first, which is why Samsung branded cells were used for the battery. This promises a longer service life and consistent performance over a longer period of time.

The range of up to 100 kilometers stated by the manufacturer is also a selling point. This makes the e-bike an attractive option for commuters and recreational riders who want to cover longer distances without frequent charging.
