Cubot Manito - budget smartphone with 4G

Almost not a month goes by without a new Cubot smartphone. The Cubot Manito was released at the end of September 2016 and can be assigned to the low-price segment. For just € 100, the new Cubot smartphone offers an unchanged Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 4G LTE support including dual SIM function. Display

Away from the phablet and towards the compact 5-inch smartphone. Cubot released the 2016-inch phablet “Max” in July 6, but it was less successful in this country. The Cubot Manito, on the other hand, is intended to conquer the local market with a compact 5-inch screen diagonal. The so-called “2.5D Curved Glass” ensures a rounded edge of the display edge. Of course, you can't expect a Full HD panel on an inexpensive smartphone under €100, which is why the Cubot Manito's IPS display "only" has a resolution of HD (1280x720). A display with a full HD resolution is hardly necessary for a 5-inch device, as individual pixels can hardly be recognized even when viewed closely. The dot density of the display is 294PPI. Cubot specifies the contrast ratio as 1.300:1 and the luminance should be 450 cd/m².

Processor

Cubot is known for mainly using older MediaTek processors. The manufacturer has not yet arrived with the new Helio series, which is why the Cubot Manito has also installed a comparatively weak 64-bit MediaTek MTK6737 processor. The maximum clock rate of the quad-core SoC is 1.3GHz. The graphics unit is a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU, which is mainly suitable for less demanding games. With 3GB RAM, the new Cubot smartphone is comparatively lavishly equipped, especially in the low-price segment. The internal memory measures 16GB and can be expanded by a maximum of 256GB with an additional micro SD memory card.

Camera

The main camera of the Cubot Manito uses a Samsung image sensor with a resolution of 8 megapixels. The exact name of the image sensor is not known. Image recordings can be shot with a maximum of 13 megapixels (interpolated). The smartphone records videos in Full HD. An autofocus is available, as well as a 0.5A single LED flash on the back. The front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels. Information about the image sensor is missing.

Other

The battery has a capacity of 2.350mAh and is therefore comparatively small. However, the built-in processor is not a "battery guzzler" either, so you should be able to get through at least a day with this smartphone.

In addition to 2G and 3G, 4G LTE is also supported. All LTE bands common in this country are available. The dual SIM slot is not a "hybrid slot", so the dual SIM function (Micro + Nano SIM) and the memory expansion can be used separately. There is also a notification LED above the display. Bluetooth 4.0, OTG and WiFi are on board, and GPS and A-GPS are also supported. Other sensors include a G-sensor, a proximity sensor, a brightness sensor and an acceleration sensor.
