Amazfit x Kelvin Kiptum
With the current marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum, Amazfit has landed a significant coup. The Kenyan ran the Chicago Marathon last year in just 2:00:35 hours, dethroning previous record holder and compatriot Eliud Kipchoge.
Amazfit and Kelvin Kiptum want to continue the success story under the motto “Breaking Limits”. Kiptum is already in intensive preparation for the Rotterdam Marathon and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, with the ambitious goal of breaking the magical 2-hour barrier.
When training, Kiptum relies on the Amazfit Cheetah Pro, a smartwatch specifically for high-performance athletes that precisely monitors and promotes their training and competition performance. In addition, he uses the new Amazfit Helio Ring, which was specifically developed to optimize his recovery phases.
Amazfit Helium Ring
As part of the announcement in Paris, Amazfit not only presented the partnership with Kiptum. Also on display was the Amazfit Helio Ring, which was first presented to the public at the CES in Las Vegas at the beginning of January. The Helio Ring is a smart fitness tracker for your finger that is equipped with extensive sensors.
The ring, which is made of titanium alloy and therefore weighs just 4 g, can track, among other things, heart rate, blood oxygen level and sleep. When worn with an Amazfit smartwatch, the Helio Ring syncs the collected data to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of overall fitness.
The Helio Ring will be available in the United States in April. Zepp Health, the company behind Amazfit, has not yet announced any details regarding global availability. It is also still unclear at what price the Helio Ring will be available. Competing products like the Oura Ring start at a price of 329 euros.
