[UPDATE] vivo X60 Pro - 5G smartphone available now!

vivo sends the new vivo X60 Pro 5G into the race in Europe. The “official smartphone of the UEFA EURO 2020TM” has been available in stores since June.  Update 31. May 2021

The vivo X60 Pro 5G is available now.  Cyberport and OTTO have already listed the smartphone for 799 euros. The dispatch takes place at least at Cyberport within 2-4 working days.

Addendum: Now the press release is out. The smartphone is officially available from tomorrow in the colors Midnight Black and Shimmer Blue at an RRP of 799 euros at Media Markt and Saturn as well as Sparhandy.de, DeinHandy.de, Otto, Cyberport and Euronics.

After the new vivo X60 Series has already appeared in China and globally, the vivo X60 Pro 5G is now also coming to Germany and Europe. It is the first vivo smartphone to benefit from the partnership concluded with ZEISS in December and to rely on a jointly developed camera system.

vivo X60 Pro smartphone back

“We are pleased and proud to introduce our latest model to European customers – the vivo X60 Pro 5G. It is the first vivo smartphone available in Europe that was developed together with ZEISS and illustrates the user-experienced results of our collaboration with this pioneer of optics. The partnership with ZEISS shows our commitment to always putting the camera at the center. Our goal is to enable the user to create their own individual 'Perfect Shot'."

Denny Deng, Vice President, President of European Business at vivo

Focus on camera system

The rear camera system of the vivo X60 Pro is divided into a 48 megapixel main sensor, a 13 megapixel sensor for wide-angle shots and a further 13 megapixel sensor with a portrait lens. In contrast to the vivo X51 5G, which also has a 48 megapixel main sensor, the aperture of the X60 Pro 5G is slightly larger at f / 1.48. This means that more light falls on the sensor, which (theoretically) enables even better night shots. Here are some sample recordings from the manufacturer that were recorded with the vivo X60 Pro 5G.

Again on board is the gimbal stabilization, which ensures particularly smooth and wobble-free shots. Called Gimbal Stabilization 2.0, it has been improved again compared to the previous model. Software innovations include the Super Night Portrait mode, which enables impressive portraits even in poor lighting conditions. The Panoramic Night Mode improves the display in diffuse lighting conditions. Another new feature in the smartphone sector is the Pixel Shift Ultra HD imaging technology, which has made it its task to prevent the moiré effect and false colors. A 32 megapixel front camera is responsible for selfies.

120 Hz AMOLED with SCHOTT display glass

The slim design is largely derived from the vivo X51 5G, accepted. The front is adorned with an almost borderless 6,56-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a faster 240 Hz touch sampling rate. This in turn ensures smooth and fluid image movements when scrolling and gaming. As an SGS Eye Care Display, the display of the vivo X60 Pro 5G is particularly easy on the eyes. Another feature is the HDR10 + certification, which brings the HDR experience known from televisions to the smartphone.

For the screen protector, vivo opted for special glass from SCHOTT, a ZEISS sister company. The lithium aluminosilicate glass (LAS) is considered to be one of the toughest and most reliable display glasses that can even withstand drops 6 times higher.

Powerful Snapdragon 870 SoC

With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 as a system-on-chip, the vivo X60 Pro 5G is equipped with a high-performance upper-class chip. A total of 8 processor cores are divided into 3 clusters (turbo: Cortex-A77 3.2 GHz, performance: Cortex-A77 2.42 GHz, power-saving: 4x Cortex-A55 1.8 GHz) so that the smartphone is up to almost any task. Even demanding gamers get their money's worth and can enjoy mobile games with high-resolution graphics and smooth frames. As far as the memory equipment is concerned, the vivo X60 Pro offers 12GB of RAM and 256GB of data storage.

The Qualcomm X5 55G modem, which supports Sub-5 and mmWave frequency ranges up to a maximum of 6 Gbit / s in the download, enables fast 7,5G cellular reception. A dual SIM slot (nano) allows the simultaneous use of two SIM cards. The power supply is provided by a 4200 mAh battery, which can be charged in a short time with 33W FlashCharge. However, the smartphone does not support contactless Qi charging.

Price and availability

The vivo X60 Pro has been available from Media Markt and Saturn as well as Sparhandy.de, DeinHandy.de, Otto, Cyberport and Euronics since the beginning of June. The recommended retail price is 799 euros.

Hello, I read on an English-language website that the vivo X60 (V2045) and X60 Pro (V2046) received different entries on Google and Geekbench. They also expect a release there soon. You probably know. more about that? Originally I wanted to get the X51. But if the new model appears in the next few weeks, I would of course prefer that.

Hi Zero, the X60 range is very likely to hit Europe in the coming weeks. Vlt. also as the X61, as was the case with the X50 Series. We'll know more by May at the latest :).

Hi techreviewer, the beginning of June will be soon. Do you already know exactly when you can buy a smartphone? And is this only available online or also in retail? There is also the Pro Plus. Should that also appear in Europe?

Hi Sascha, the post has just been updated. The smartphone is available from tomorrow :). It is not clear from the communication whether it will be available locally. There is still no news about the X60 Pro +.

Am I correct that the X60 Pro no longer has a periscope lens?

Hi Heiko, that's correct. Although no periscope camera is listed in the data sheet, zooming is possible with "up to SAT 20X".
