(Xiaomi) Roborock S6 / T6

The new Roborock vacuum robot has officially made it to Germany! The vacuum robot was released in this country as Roborock S6 and differs only in the name of the Roborock T6. The Roborock T6 is intended exclusively for the Chinese market. The Roborock S6 is the international model with CE marking.
If you want to buy the Roborock S6 directly in Germany, Cyberport is the first port of call. There the vacuum robot will be available from May 16 and currently costs € 549. You can find more offers at the end of the article.
To the suction robot at Cyberport
Correction: A few days ago it was reported that the Roborock S5 models would receive the new software functions (room layout) of the Roborock S6 with a slight delay. Roborock has now officially commented on this on Facebook. Accordingly, such an update of the S5 was planned, but is currently not being pursued any further.
It's better to give a statement of whether the S6 new room management features will be updated on the S5. It was in the plan, but this will not happen in the near future. And whether this plan will come true is in line with the future product planning, sales and marketing, internal restructuring.
While the good news is that we are pushing the PMs to add multiple-floor map storage in S6 & S5.

Almost 1 1 / 2 years after the release of the Roborock S5 series, the independent company “Roborock”, which also produces for Xiaomi, is releasing a new generation of vacuum robots. The Roborock T19 was officially presented on March 6th. Basically, this is largely based on the previous model, but has some interesting innovations to offer in detail. Below I refer to the name Roborock S6, the identical model available in Europe. The robot vacuum cleaner appeared on the Chinese market under the name Roborock T6.
High quality materials
Visually, the S6 only differs slightly from its predecessor. According to Roborock, the new generation uses higher quality materials such as durable plastic rollers from Covestro (Made in Germany), brushes with DuPont nylon fibers, fans from Nidec and sensors from Bosch and KODENSHI. The control buttons on the top have also been revised. Instead of separate pushbuttons, the S6 uses a single rocker switch.
Map Management 3.0 system
Back on board is the laser distance sensor (LDS) that adorns the top of the robotic vacuum cleaner. According to Chinese sources, this uses an improved SLAM algorithm, which enables faster map construction and more precise navigation in space. The Map Management 3.0 system, which is also new, ensures that room maps are permanently saved and can be called up. Several floors can be recorded and individual rooms for cleaning can be selected from the created room maps.

The suction power of the Roborock S6 remains unchanged at 2000 Pa. The removable dust container with washable filter has a capacity of 480 ml. The interior of the robot vacuum has been redesigned. A new 30.5 mm motor with a noise-reducing air filter reduces the operating volume of the robot hoover. According to Chinese test reports, this is almost 4 decibels below that of the predecessor.
The S6 masters thresholds with up to 2 cm. The also redesigned main brush with laterally removable brush bearings makes it easier to remove tangled hair. The wiping function is retained on the S6. In addition to washable microfiber cloths, the robot vacuum cleaner can also be equipped with separately available disposable cloths. The capacity of the water tank is 160 ml.
App control and battery
Roborock once again uses the Mi Home app to manage and control the vacuum robot. The captured cards can be viewed and managed via the app. The cleaning area can be restricted using the “Virtual Wall” function. Also available is carpet mode, which automatically detects carpets and increases suction power. The suction power itself can be regulated in several levels via the app. A timer function allows the Roborock S6 to be controlled according to a schedule. A connection to the Chinese voice assistant “Xiao AI” enables control via voice command.
The capacity of the built-in battery is 5200 mAh. That is enough for a 2 1/2 hour running time, which corresponds roughly to the cleaning of a 250 m² living space. If the battery power falls below 20%, the robot vacuum automatically drives to the charging dock.
Price and availability
Chinese interested parties can pre-order the Roborock T6 via the Chinese crowdfunding platform “Youpin”. The price is 2799 yuan, which is equivalent to €367. Shipping will begin on April 04, 2019. The first import shops should also be able to offer the T6 / S6 in mid-May. The German sales start of the Roborock S6 is also scheduled for mid-May.

200 € more just for the room layout? You can almost get two xiaomi vacuum robots 1. Buy generation. I think that is an impudence for a mere software function to demand such a surcharge. It has otherwise changed as well as nothing to the S5.

has anyone tested whether the S6 recognizes when wiping / mopping when he comes on a rug and he then no longer gives off water?
