HONOR x IFA 2023
HONOR has not chosen a more suitable event than IFA 2023 as a time for the global product launch. The smartphone will be presented on September 01st – 10 a.m.
A teaser titled "Unfold Tomorrow" doesn't reveal much just yet, but mysteriously hints at the unveiling of another device alongside the HONOR Magic V2. It could be a flip phone (HONOR Magic Flip?!), but so far HONOR hasn't announced such a model even in China. However, the main focus is expected to be on the Magic V2.
It remains to be seen whether the HONOR Magic V2 will also appear in Germany in the near future. Its predecessor, the HONOR Magic Vs, launched globally in December 2022. The starting signal for Europe finally followed in May 2023. It would be all the more surprising if HONOR brought the successor to the European market later this year.
HONOR Magic V2: Features
The global version of the HONOR Magic V2 is no different from the Chinese version. The specifications are already on the global hihonor website (Link) listed.
The design deserves a special mention: it is the thinnest and lightest foldable cell phone to date, with a thickness of just 9,9 millimeters and a folded weight of 231 grams. This even surpasses the Huawei Mate X3 and is slimmer than the previous Samsung models.
The smartphone appeared in China in these colors.
The smartphone offers two displays. The inner display is a 7,92-inch foldable OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO technology that offers a resolution of 2344 x 2156 pixels and also supports a stylus, but this is only included in the Ultimate model. The outer display measures 6,43 inches and also features 120Hz LTPO technology with a resolution of 2376 x 1060 pixels and also supports a stylus.
The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor combined with 16 GB of RAM. Storage capacity starts at 256GB and goes up to an impressive 1TB in the Ultimate model. Despite its slimness, the phone houses a 5000mAh battery that supports a 66W fast charge capability, albeit without a wireless charging option.

Camera-wise, the HONOR Magic V2 features a triple lens setup on the back: a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.9 aperture, a 50-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.0 aperture, and a 20-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture . Both displays also have a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
