The DOOGEE X5 is an extremely inexpensive low budget smartphone, which was already able to convince in the standard and pro version. Now the manufacturer has announced the DOOGEE X5 Max, which has been adapted to current standards in terms of hardware. The X5 Max will be released in June 2016 and is currently in the pre-sale on Gearbest. The price is 59.09 €, shipping is from China.

The DOOGEE X5 Max is a 5 inch smartphone with a display resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The edges of the display are visually rounded thanks to 2.5D curved glass. The processor used is a MediaTek MT6580 quad-core, which is also installed in the standard X5. The RAM is 1GB, the internal memory is 8GB. Memory expansion is possible with a maximum of 32GB. What is extremely interesting is that the X5 Max ships with Android 6.0. The first teasers suggest that a special theme was used that differs from stock Android. It is currently unknown to what extent the system was modified by the manufacturer so that it can also cope with somewhat weaker low-budget hardware.
Both the main camera and the front camera of the DOOGEE X5 Max have a native resolution of 5 megapixels. The interpolated value is 8 megapixels. The f-number of the main camera is f / 1.8, that of the front camera is f / 2.0. The main camera also has an auto focus and an LED flash. Another innovation is a fingerprint scanner on the back, which can also be used as a quick start button. Up to 5 fingerprint profiles can be saved and a different function can be assigned to each profile.
GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth are of course also available, as well as a gyroscope and a proximity sensor. LTE is not supported by this dual-band smartphone. The capacity of the battery is a whopping 4.000mAh. According to DOOGEE, the battery life can be 2 1/2 days with conventional use.
