Ultra low profile switches
The CHERRY KW X ULP sets new standards in terms of design and functionality. It is equipped with the CHERRY MX Ultra Low Profile switches (Made in Germany), which are 3,5 percent flatter than standard MX switches with a height of only 70 millimeters.
This means that the keyboard is particularly flat and still offers the full mechanical typing feel that CHERRY is known for. The typing feel is made more precise by the concave key caps made of polycarbonate.
In terms of durability, the high-quality CHERRY MX Ultra Low Profile switches promise an impressive lifespan of up to 50 million actuations per key.
Aesthetically pleasing and functional
In addition to functionality, CHERRY attaches great importance to aesthetics with the KW X ULP. With a black housing, anodized aluminum plate and shiny silver edges, CHERRY tries to achieve a timelessly elegant appearance that stands out on every desk. The keyboard can be adapted to the needs of the user via fold-out feet on the underside.
In addition, the keyboard is equipped with a monochrome backlight (10 levels of brightness) so that the keys remain accessible in the dark. Anti-ghosting and full-N-key rollover also make the KW X ULP interesting for gamers.
Versatile connection options
The keyboard offers four different connection options, including two Bluetooth 5.2 channels, a wired connection via the included USB-A to USB-C cable, and a wireless connection via a USB dongle.
The dongle transmits at 2,4 GHz and is protected against attacks by AES-128 encryption. The integrated battery of the keyboard is charged at the same time via the USB-A to USB-C cable.
Availability and price
The CHERRY KW X ULP is now available in the CHERRY shop and from selected partners. With a recommended retail price of 249,99 euros, it is certainly an investment, but given the quality and versatility on offer, the price seems justified.
In addition to the keyboard, the scope of delivery includes a USB-A to USB-C cable and an extra small USB dongle for wireless operation. And in order to underline the environmental awareness, CHERRY completely dispenses with plastic in the packaging and uses paper instead.
