Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 Performance

The Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 has already powered the Razer Edge gaming handheld and received rave reviews. Now Qualcomm is going one better and releasing a powerful successor with the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2.

The high-end chip places itself at the top of the new Snapdragon G series and takes handheld gaming to a new level. Equipped with an 8-core Kryo CPU and an Adreno A32 GPU, the chip promises an impressive performance increase of over 30% in the CPU and two times faster GPU performance compared to the previous model.

The chip also brings with it a wealth of high-end gaming features, including hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Game Super Resolution, XR glass tethering, and premium, low-latency Bluetooth audio thanks to Snapdragon Sound. In addition, support for Wi-Fi 7 High-Band Simultaneous (HBS) as well as 5G sub-6 and mmWave ensures lightning-fast wireless speeds.

What does this mean for gamers? Put simply, it opens the door to stunning cross-platform gaming experiences no matter where you are. The Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 seems poised to take the gaming world by storm and we can't wait to see what developers and gamers will do with it.

The first offspring of the new Snapdragon G1 platform is the Snapdragon G1 Gen 1. The chip is powered by an 8-core Kryo CPU and an Adreno A11 GPU and is intended to cause a stir, especially in inexpensive handheld consoles.

The focus is on local and cloud-based streaming of games. Its strengths are its fanless design and high efficiency with low power consumption.

The middle class: Snapdragon G2 Gen 1

As a middle ground between the two lines, Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon G2 Gen 1 platform. This is not just any chip, but a real game changer in mobile and cloud gaming.

What makes the Snapdragon G2 so special? Let's start with the heart of the system, the 8-core Kryo CPU. There is also an Adreno A21 GPU specially optimized for gaming. The package is completed by the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System, which enables fast and stable connections with its 5G and Wi-Fi 6/6E technology from the Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 Mobile Connectivity System.

For gamers, this means unlimited freedom and flexibility. Whether at home on the couch, in a café or on the go on the train - the Snapdragon G2 makes full-fledged gaming possible everywhere. And the possibilities are anything but limited. From fast-paced action games to intense strategy titles, the G2 Gen 1 allows you to explore all that mobile and cloud gaming has to offer.

 Future prospects and partnerships

Hoping for high-end gaming devices powered by its new chip to hit the market as soon as possible, the company has granted select manufacturers access to a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 Handheld Gaming Reference Design.
