Premium design and innovative user interface
The Nothing Phone (2) features a unique design that builds on the previous model, the Phone (1), and improves it with a number of design tweaks. In particular, the 1 mm thinner midframe and the curved glass back contribute to improved ergonomics, which makes everyday use of the device more comfortable.
A distinctive feature of the back of the phone (2) is the so-called glyph surface. This consists of LED segments that provide the user with basic information at a glance, reducing the need for interaction with the screen. This works with light and sound sequences, including for contacts and apps.
The Glyph Composer is another innovation that offers users a way to personalize their ringtones. This allows you to create your own and therefore unique tones, which can then be used as notification or ringtones.
Nothing OS 2.0: An operating system designed for functionality
The Phone (2) is equipped with the new Nothing OS 2.0. Nothing promises three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, distributed every two months.
The Android 13 operating system aims to reduce distractions while providing a fast, smooth user experience that embodies Nothing's unique aesthetic.
The monochrome layout and the ability to remove app labels allows for even more targeted control of the smartphone to focus on the most important functions.
Also, Nothing OS 2.0 introduced the redesigned widgets on the home and lock screens. They enable access to important functions without even having to open apps.
Improved hardware and camera features
Another upgrade to the Phone (1) is the use of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, which is known for its efficiency and power. The chip is powered by a 4.700 mAh battery that can be charged with up to 45 watts on the cable or 15 watts wirelessly.
The rear camera system combines two advanced 50 MP sensors, with the Sony IMX890 as the main sensor. Combined with the Snapdragon 18+ Gen 8's 1-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP), the Phone(2) can process camera data up to 4.000 times faster than its predecessor.
In addition, the Phone (2) improves video recording capabilities with stunning 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Thanks to the built-in EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), videos are optimally stabilized.
Additionally, the Phone (2) features a 6,7-inch LTPO OLED display that ensures crisp image quality and is brighter compared to the Phone (1) display. The adaptive refresh rate from 120 Hz to 1 Hz ensures a smooth picture while optimizing power consumption.
Commitment to Sustainability
Nothing designed the Phone (2) as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability. Despite the additional features and components compared to the previous model, the company was able to reduce the CO2 emissions of the Phone (2) by 5 kg. This shows that technological progress and sustainability are not mutually exclusive.

Hi Timo, was anything said about the Android update promise at the reveal? With the Phone (1) it was already three years. I would be interested to know if Samsung has come closer and is now promising four years.

Hi Mehmet, thanks for the tip. It's still Android updates for three years and security patches for four years (every two months). Added it above. 🙂
