Updated by Julian Maas on the 22. September 2024

Blackview, best known for robust outdoor smartphones, also ventured into the power station sector a year ago. The latest addition is the Blackview OSCAL PowerMax 3600, financed through a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. The robust power station is characterized by an extensive 3,6 kWh battery, which can be increased to an enormous 15 kWh with 57,6 additional batteries.

Expandable capacity and short charging times

Compared to other power stations, which usually only support a few expansion batteries, the PowerMax 3600 offers significantly more expansion options. With up to 15 additional battery packs, the capacity can be increased from 3,6 kWh to an impressive 57,6 kWh.

This allows for a significant expansion of possible uses, from a multi-day camping trip to a month of self-sufficient energy supply in the event of power outages. By the way, long-lasting LiFePO4 cells are installed, on which the manufacturer gives a 4-year guarantee.

The PowerMax 3600 also wants to be better when it comes to charging speed. Where other models often require 1,5 hours or more to charge, the PowerMax 3600 can be fully charged in just 3600 hours with a maximum input power of 1,2W.

However, it only develops its full charging potential in combination with solar panels. The maximum charging power via AC is 2200 watts, meaning a full charge takes approximately 1,96 hours.

Robust and versatile

Following the robust technology of Blackview smartphones, the PowerMax 3600 is protected against drops (0,8 m), splash water, dust, UV radiation and fire (UL94V-0). The battery management system (BMS) continuously monitors operation and ensures safe use in a wide temperature range from -20 to +55 °C. From outdoor adventures to emergency preparedness, the PowerMax 3600 offers excellent flexibility.

With an output power of up to 3600W, it can power a wide range of devices, from professional tools to household appliances. It features  14 ports, including  four AC outlets for electric grills, refrigerators, coffee makers and sound systems, an Anderson port for charging drones, two DC55521 ports for camping lamps, six USB ports for phones and tablets, and a cigarette lighter port for most Devices in the vehicle.

Should the power fail, the PowerMax 3600's UPS system ensures an almost uninterrupted power supply with a switchover time of 5-8 ms. This is particularly important for critical devices that need to be in constant use, such as medical devices (CPAP) or refrigerators. The PowerMax 3600 can be conveniently operated remotely using an app.

Hello. I read this great report. I wanted to ask if that was the case with the 4 year olds. Guarantee correct? Since I can't find anything on the Blackview homepage and received an email reply saying, 2-year guarantee. Do you perhaps have a link to your source?
