Xiaomi is now serious about electric cars. With the SU7 Ultra, the Chinese tech giant has set a new lap record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The prototype mastered the legendary track in just 6:46,874 minutes.

More power, less time

Powered by three electric motors with a combined output of 1548 hp, the SU7 Ultra accelerates from 1,98 to 0 km/h in just 100 seconds. With a top speed of 350 km/h, Xiaomi catapults the vehicle to a level previously reserved for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, overtaking it by a clear 20 seconds on the legendary race track.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Front
The aggressive front of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra ensures optimal performance on the racetrack with aerodynamic details such as the 'U-design' spoiler and large air intakes.

The vehicle is built for the racetrack, but remains suitable for everyday use. This is made possible by a smart combination of aerodynamic design, powerful drive and high-tech battery. The huge front splitter, a rear wing made of carbon fiber and an active diffuser guarantee stability and maximum downforce.

Interior: Racing meets high-tech

In the cockpit, Xiaomi relies on a mixture of luxury and sportiness. Racing seats with active side cushions and a flat steering wheel covered in Alcantara ensure a pure racing feeling. The "Boost" button on the steering wheel adds a pinch of extra adrenaline, while the sound system with three specially developed "Electric Sport Sound" profiles delivers the right soundtrack for every ride.

record drive on the Nordschleife

Racing driver David Pittard got the most out of the SU7 Ultra on the Nordschleife and set a new record for four-door vehicles with a lap time of 6:46,874 minutes.

However, the overall record still belongs to the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, which completed the course in 2018 with an impressive time of 5:19,55 minutes. Nevertheless, Xiaomi is sending a clear signal to the established car manufacturers with this performance.

What's next?

The SU7 Ultra will initially be launched in China, with a planned retail price of around 110.000 euros. The basic version of the SU7, which is already available in China for under 30.000 euros, offers a cheaper alternative. However, concrete plans for a market launch in Europe are still pending.

If the SU7 comes to Europe, the order books for all SU7 variants will be transferred from Xiaomi. I would definitely get the SU7 Max, but maybe also the Ultra.
Unbelievable what Xiaomi has delivered in such a short time!!!
