Xiaomi POCO X2 - Hands-On & Geekbench Leak!

There is movement again in Xiaomi's sub-brand "Poco" (India) or "Pocophone" (Global). Just a few days ago, the Chinese electronics giant secured the name "Poco F2". A "Xiaomi POCO X2" has now appeared in the database of the benchmark developer "Geekbench".

 The rumors that the POCO X2 is a relabeled Redmi K30 are hardening. A video that appeared recently on YouTube shows a live hands-on for the new POCO smartphone. The identical design to the Redmi K30 can be clearly seen. Only the Redmi logo was replaced by the POCO lettering.

Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi's Global VP and MD Xiaomi India announced on Twitter that POCO is separating itself from Xiami and no longer living as a sub-brand but as a separate brand. This announcement is another indication that a new Pocophone is about to be released.

Smartphones that expect a market launch soon often appear in the databases of various benchmark apps. The entry of the POCO X2 reveals that this is an Android 10 smartphone with an 8-core Qualcomm processor and 8GB of RAM. With a single-core score of 547 and a multi-core score of 1767, there is much to suggest that the POCO X2 could be a global variant of the Redmi K30, which was recently launched in China. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, which can be assigned to the upper mid-range segment, would be a possible processor.

Another clue that speaks for a Redmi K30 Global is the code name. The POCO X2 is codenamed “phoenixin”. The Redmi K30 was released with the code name “phoenix”. The "in" as an addition could therefore stand for India, which is also reflected in the model name, because in some markets Pocophone smartphones only appear as "Poco".
