Xiaomi will be exhibiting at IFA in Berlin for the first time in 2026. The focus of its trade fair presentation will be the intelligent ecosystem “Human × Car × Home”, new product premieres for Europe, and billions of dollars in investments in research and development.

Xiaomi IFA Kickoff 2026

Xiaomi announced its first-ever participation in IFA at the official IFA Kick-Off event in Berlin. In September 2026, the Chinese technology company plans to present its intelligent ecosystem "Human × Car × Home" to a European audience for the first time. At the same time, Xiaomi reaffirmed its long-term investment plans for Europe.

According to the company, Europe will play an even more important role in Xiaomi's global innovation strategy in the future. Between 2026 and 2028, Xiaomi plans to invest €7,4 billion in research and development in the field of artificial intelligence. Europe is to be further developed as one of its key global innovation hubs.

"Human × Car × Home" is coming to Europe

With "Human × Car × Home," Xiaomi is pursuing an approach that aims to more closely link personal devices, smart home products, and intelligent mobility. Instead of individual, separate devices, the goal is to create a cohesive ecosystem in which artificial intelligence plays a central role.

At IFA 2026, Xiaomi plans to showcase for the first time how this strategy will be implemented in the European market. In addition to the ecosystem itself, the company announced several European premieres from its product and technology portfolio. Which specific devices or technologies will be presented will be revealed closer to the trade show.

Zeng Hua, PR Director for Western Europe at the Xiaomi Group, described Europe not only as a sales market, but as a region where Xiaomi wants to "listen, learn, and build." He stated that their first participation in IFA was therefore an important step in further expanding their dialogue with media, partners, and users in Europe.

Europe as an important location for research and development

To strengthen its presence in the region, the company intends to further expand its research and development capacities and work more closely with local talent and partners.

Globally, Xiaomi plans to invest more than €24 billion in research and development between 2026 and 2030. These funds will be used for areas including artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, robotics, operating systems, and other key technologies.

For the European market, this primarily means that products and services will be more closely adapted to local requirements in the future. Xiaomi is thus positioning itself not only as a provider of smartphones and smart home devices, but increasingly as a provider of a comprehensive, AI-powered technology ecosystem.

More than 1,1 billion connected devices

In the first quarter of 2026, Xiaomi's AI ecosystem comprised more than 1,1 billion connected devices worldwide, according to the company. The portfolio spans more than 130 product categories and over 2.000 products, including solutions in the areas of health, home, entertainment, mobility, and smart living.

IFA 2026 is therefore likely to be one of Xiaomi's most important appearances before a European audience to date. The trade fair presentation is intended to showcase how the company plans to better integrate its product lines in the future and incorporate artificial intelligence into everyday life beyond individual devices.

Further details regarding Xiaomi's IFA presence, including specific exhibition content, the media program and new product announcements, are expected to follow in the run-up to the trade fair in September.
