200 MP periscope, Sony LYT-828 and 50 MP ultra wide angle
According to the leak, the camera consists of three modules: a 50 MP main camera with the recently introduced Sony LYT-828 sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 200 MP periscope zoom. The latter is likely based on Samsung's ISOCELL HP9 and is said to enable a five-fold optical zoom including a macro function.
The 828/1-inch LYT-1.28 is Sony's latest offering for the smartphone market. With over 100 dB of dynamic range, equivalent to approximately 17 f-stops, it achieves values previously found only in full-frame cameras. This is made possible by Sony's Hybrid Frame HDR, which combines dual conversion gain with multi-frame HDR. Even when zooming, the full dynamic range is maintained by automatically switching the sensor to full-resolution mode.
With Ultra-High Conversion Gain, the new Sony sensor promises to significantly reduce noise in dark scenes, while Quad Phase Detection is designed to ensure faster autofocus even in low light or with moving subjects.
Better coating against lens flare
Vivo now aims to address the lens flare issue, which was often criticized in previous models, with hardware. A new lens coating, developed in collaboration with Zeiss, is designed to minimize reflections and ensure clearer images. This should provide visible improvements, especially at night and in backlit conditions.
More compact than its predecessor and with a new chip
In addition to the camera, other specifications are also becoming more concrete. The X300 Pro will be powered by the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9500, which is expected to be unveiled in September. The display is said to be 6,3 inches, wireless charging will be supported, and the fingerprint sensor will be an ultrasonic solution installed under the glass. Despite its high-end features, the device is said to be comparatively compact, which is rather rare in today's flagship class.
Market launch already in autumn?
The vivo X300 Pro is expected to be released in China this fall, possibly even alongside the launch of the Dimensity 9500. A global launch is expected in early 2026. If the camera package proves its worth in practice, Vivo is likely to offer one of the most exciting camera alternatives on the market.
