UGREEN NASync iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro: New AI NAS introduced

Published by Timo Altmeyer on the 9. January 2025

UGREEN presented new hardware at CES 2025. Under the motto “Activate the Possibility of AI”, the company is showing the new NAS systems iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro, a powerful 500W GaN charger and a high-speed docking station with Thunderbolt 5.

NASync iDX6011 & iDX6011 Pro

The focus of the UGREEN product presentation were the two new NAS models NASync iDX6011 and NASync iDX6011 Pro . Both use Intel's Core Ultra processors, offer up to 160 TB of storage capacity and integrate AI functions. This is made possible by UGREEN UGOS Pro , an extended version of the operating system that already ran on the previous models of the DXP series.

Like ChatGPT, the AI is based on Large Language Models (LLMs) that run directly on the NAS hardware. Users should be able to search documents in natural language, summarize content or find photos using free text searches, for example with queries such as: "Show me all the pictures that show a dog."

For objects that are not recognized by the AI, the system offers the option of training the AI manually. Users can upload multiple images of the object so that it can be identified in the future.

The idea sounds exciting, but UGREEN is not alone here. Vendors such as Synology and QNAP have already introduced similar functions - albeit with less hype around AI. UGREEN's focus on local processing is a plus for those concerned about data privacy, but the question remains how well the AI actually works. AI processes are notoriously resource-hungry.

Nexode 500W and Revodok Max 2131

UGREEN is also expanding its Nexode series with the 500W GaN charger, which can charge up to six devices simultaneously - including e-bikes and power tools. The charger has five USB-C and one USB-A ports and supports a power output of up to 240W per USB-C port. The available fast charging protocols are PD3.1, QC3.0, SCP, FCA and AFC.
