Introduction
Teufel has been a go-to brand for me for years when it comes to honest, powerful sound "Made in Berlin." The manufacturer has made a name for itself over many years, especially in the loudspeaker and over-ear headphone segments. That's precisely why I was particularly excited about my first real in-ear headphone test from Teufel. The true wireless market has seen a lot of development in recent years; it's highly competitive, and I've personally tested numerous models from Bose, Sennheiser, Sonos, and Bowers & Wilkins.
With the Teufel AIRY TWS PRO, Teufel clearly positions itself in the premium segment of true wireless in-ear headphones. The features are impressive, including adaptive hybrid noise cancellation, large 10mm drivers, and Bluetooth 5.2 with AAC and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive. Added to this is a very attractive current price: instead of €169,99, the AIRY TWS PRO are currently available for €129,99.
The crucial question, therefore, is not whether Teufel has packed in a lot of features, but whether the sound, noise cancellation, and everyday usability truly live up to the "Pro" claim. For the test, I used the AIRY TWS PRO intensively for several days while working from home, traveling, making phone calls, listening to music, and deliberately in noisy environments.

Design, workmanship and comfort
Visually, the Teufel AIRY TWS PRO headphones maintain a pleasantly understated design. No exaggerated styling, no flashy accents, instead a functional, modern look clearly aimed at adult users. The build quality is excellent. The gaps are consistent, the surfaces feel smoothly finished, and nothing creaks or feels cheap.
Weighing in at 5,7 grams per earbud, these in-ear headphones are solidly in the mid-range. The key factor here isn't so much the weight, but rather the well-designed shape. The slightly angled earpieces ensure a secure fit without causing pressure points. Even during extended listening sessions, the in-ear headphones remain comfortable.
A definite plus are the mushroom-shaped ear tips made of antibacterial silicone. Teufel includes five sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL). This is exemplary and far from standard practice. I have relatively sensitive ears and was pleasantly surprised by how snug yet comfortable the AIRY TWS PRO earbuds are. This is especially crucial for effective ANC.
Incidentally, the earbuds are IPX4 rated, so rain, sweat, or splashes of water are no problem. They aren't primarily designed for intense sports, but they are perfectly robust enough for everyday use.

Charging case: compact, functional and suitable for everyday use
The charging case has a rather understated design, but it fulfills its purpose perfectly. Weighing just 64 grams, it's pleasantly lightweight and fits easily into a jacket or trouser pocket. The matte surface is relatively resistant to fingerprints and minor scratches.
Charging is done either via the classic USB-C port or wirelessly using a Qi charging pad. I particularly appreciate the wireless charging, as I already have a charging pad on my desk. The battery indicator on the case itself is handy and is also displayed in the Teufel Go app as well as on iOS and Android devices.
With a 500 mAh battery capacity, the case reliably powers the in-ear headphones for several days.

Setup and connectivity
Initial setup is refreshingly straightforward. Open the case, remove the earbuds, and thanks to Google Fast Pair, the AIRY TWS PRO appear instantly on compatible Android devices. Pairing also worked flawlessly on iOS, Windows, and macOS.
Bluetooth 5.2 ensures a stable connection with low latency. The multipoint function is particularly important to me, as I use my smartphone and laptop simultaneously. Switching between the two devices works reliably in everyday use. A call on my smartphone cleanly interrupts music playback on my laptop, and then it automatically switches back. That's exactly what I expect in this price range.
AAC and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive are supported, resulting in noticeably better audio quality, especially on Android and macOS. Videos and games are transmitted with perfect lip sync, and there were no noticeable delays with YouTube or streaming apps.
Sound quality: mature, balanced – but not overwhelming for everyone.
Let's get to the most important point: the sound. Teufel advertises the AIRY TWS PRO as bringing the sound of large over-ear headphones as close as possible to an in-ear format. A confident statement that raises high expectations.
The built-in 10mm Linear HD drivers deliver a very clean and balanced sound overall.
bass
The bass is deep, controlled, and palpable. Teufel specifies a frequency range down to 8 Hz. This is, of course, more theoretical, but subjectively, the deep bass does indeed extend very low. Electronic music, hip-hop, and modern pop productions benefit from this. Importantly, the bass doesn't sound muddy, but rather precise and clean.
Middle
The mids are warm, present, and pleasantly natural. Vocals are clear and well-defined, whether in podcasts, audiobooks, or vocals. The AIRY TWS PRO headphones truly shine with rock, singer-songwriter, and acoustic music.
Heights
The highs are cleanly resolved and detailed without sounding unpleasantly harsh. Even at higher volumes, details are preserved, and sibilance doesn't become prominent. Overall, the sound is well-balanced with a subtle warmth typical of Teufel.
The Teufel Go app allows you to adjust the sound via an equalizer. The presets are well-chosen, noticeably changing the sound without distorting it.

Personal assessment in direct comparison
At this point, an honest, personal comparison is important to me. Over the past few years, I've tested numerous true wireless in-ear headphones from Bose, Sennheiser, Sonos, and Soundcore. Accordingly, my reference point is quite high, especially when it comes to sound tuning, dynamics, and that certain "aha moment."
The Teufel AIRY TWS PRO are my first in-ear headphones from Teufel for testing. So I approached the test without any brand bias, but with certain expectations, especially due to Teufel's excellent reputation in the over-ear and speaker segment.
What I noticed relatively quickly was this: Yes, there are different audio modes and equalizer settings, and these do audibly change the sound. However, I subjectively felt that many of the presets sounded closer to each other than I'm used to from some competing models. The focus shifts slightly towards bass or neutrality depending on the setting, but the fundamental sound character remains very similar.
As already described, the bass is definitely present, punchy, and clean. However, I must honestly say that, compared to other brands, the bass didn't particularly surprise or emotionally engage me. It's good, but in my personal opinion, it doesn't clearly stand out from what other manufacturers in this price range also deliver.
And this is precisely my personal sticking point: The Teufel AIRY TWS PRO are by no means bad in-ear headphones. They are well-tuned, technically very well-equipped, and perfectly suitable for everyday use. But compared to the in-ear headphones I recently tested, I expected more, especially regarding the distinctive sound signature and the famous "wow factor."
This assessment is deliberately purely subjective. I didn't have any other Teufel in-ear or over-ear headphones available for comparison. It's quite possible, therefore, that Teufel consciously opted for a balanced, rather restrained sound signature here.
Ultimately, for me personally, the AIRY TWS PRO headphones are good, but they didn't completely win me over. This isn't a judgment on their quality, but rather an expression of my personal listening preferences and my previous experience comparing them to other headphones.

Adaptive Hybrid Active Noise Canceling in everyday life
The adaptive, hybrid ANC is one of the strongest selling points of the AIRY TWS PRO. In everyday use, the noise cancellation automatically adjusts to the environment. In quiet rooms, the ANC works subtly, while in trains, traffic, or cafes, it filters out noise much more strongly.
Low-frequency noises like engines or fans are very effectively reduced. Voices are attenuated but not completely eliminated, which is normal for in-ear headphones. A positive point: The sound remains stable and hardly changes even with ANC activated.
Transparency mode: implemented effectively
The transparency mode can be activated via touch and works reliably. Outside sounds are allowed through naturally, without sounding artificial or tinny. Announcements, short conversations, or being aware of traffic are easily possible.
Telephony and voice quality
With six microphones and Qualcomm cVc technology, the AIRY TWS PRO delivers excellent voice quality. My voice was transmitted clearly and intelligibly, even in windy or noisy environments. These in-ear headphones are perfectly suited for calls via Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime. Using just one earbud also works flawlessly.
Operation and App
The headphones are controlled via touch surfaces and sliders on the stem. Music, volume, calls, and ANC modes can be controlled directly on the ear. The Teufel Go app allows for individual customization of these functions. The app is clear, stable, functional, and free of unnecessary features.

Battery life and everyday use
The battery life is realistic and easily achievable in everyday use:
- over 7 hours without ANC
- Over 19 hours with ANC including case
- Over 32 hours without ANC including case
This is perfectly sufficient for a normal workday including calls and music.
Who are the Teufel AIRY TWS PRO in-ear headphones right for?
The Teufel AIRY TWS PRO are technically very well-equipped true wireless in-ear headphones with strong ANC, a solid app, good call quality, and mature sound. They are aimed at users who value functionality, comfort, and balanced sound.
However, those who, like me, have already listened to many competing in-ear headphones and are specifically looking for a clear, unique sonic selling point might expect a bit more. They're by no means bad, but they just didn't quite click with me personally.
