Modular platform with interchangeable functions
The SwitchBot K20+ Pro isn't a traditional robot vacuum, but rather a transformer for various household tasks. SwitchBot calls it the FusionPlatform™, a modular construction that can accommodate various attachments.
Depending on which module is connected via the ClawLock™ system, the K20+ Pro transforms into a vacuum cleaner, air purifier, security camera, or fan on wheels. The connection is tool-free, allowing for quick switching between modules.
With a load capacity of up to 8 kg, the K20+ Pro can transport smaller items, such as snacks, packages, or medications, from A to B. It's controlled via an app, allowing targeted home deliveries at the touch of a finger. This can be a practical aid in everyday life, especially for people with limited mobility.
For navigation, the K20+ Pro uses a D-ToF lidar system with two additional laser sensors. This enables precise mapping with high accuracy, including real-time obstacle detection.
Integration into existing smart home environments is done via Matter, Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri and the SwitchBot proprietary platform.
Kits at a glance
SwitchBot sells the K20+ Pro in different kits:
- Standard Kit: Includes the base platform and a mini robot vacuum with TwinFlow technology. Vacuums in four modes, including spot and edge cleaning.
- Patrol Kit: Instead of cleaning, the focus here is on security. The kit includes a pivoting 2K or 3K camera with motion detection and app connectivity for mobile monitoring.
- Air Purifier Kit: Transforms the robot into a mobile air purifier with a filtration system. The K20+ Pro moves independently throughout the home, cleaning the air in multiple rooms.
- Airflow Kit: Includes a portable SwitchBot fan that is made mobile via the platform. The goal is to provide automatic, room-wide air circulation.
- Mobile Stand Kit: Raises tablets or small monitors to eye level and moves them around the room – for example, for video calls, cooking videos or presentations.
- Omni Ultimate Kit: Includes multiple modules in one package. Designed for users who want to combine all the features without having to upgrade later.
In addition, SwitchBot offers extensions such as an adjustable holder for mobile devices or a cordless vacuum cleaner attachment to further expand the range of functions.
Open platform for DIY extensions
In addition to the official modules, SwitchBot relies on an open system for developers and hobbyists. The FusionPlatform offers multiple power connections and interfaces for creating custom attachments. SwitchBot cites UV sterilizers, Bluetooth speakers, and mini-fridges as possible examples.
An official DIY competition is also planned, in which users can submit their own developments and share them via the community.
Price and availability
The SwitchBot K20+ Pro is now available on the official SwitchBot website available for pre-order and is expected to be delivered at the end of June.
