SwitchBot Curtain 2
Opening curtains in the morning becomes obsolete with the SwitchBot Curtain 2. The smart curtain robot is able to open and close curtains fully automatically.
The new model is again available in two versions: As SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 (Link) for conventional curtain rods or as a SwitchBot Curtain U Rail 2 (Link) for U-rails.
New "Dynamiclamp" design
The SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 has undergone some useful improvements. Instead of a large holder, as was the case with its predecessor, the new model takes a slightly different approach. The new design is called “DynamiClamp”, in which two separate holders or drives move the curtain. This means the curtain motor glides faster, more reliably and more gently over the curtain rod.
At the same time, DynamiClamp ensures greater compatibility even with exotic curtain rods. Rods with a diameter of 15-40 mm or a circumference of 47-125 mm are suitable. Curtains weighing up to 8 kg are no obstacle for the SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2. Installing the SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 takes just 30 seconds.
Control via app and voice command
The SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 is operated either via the app or by voice command. You can use the app to set schedules for opening and closing, you can control the process at the touch of a button or you can let the “Light Sensing” function automatically control the brightness.
A SwitchBot Hub is also required to control the curtain remotely. Without the SwitchBot Hub, the curtain robot can only be addressed via Bluetooth.
As an alternative to the app, the SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 can be conveniently controlled via voice command. Such a command might look like this: "Alexa, open the curtain in the bedroom" . The assistants “Alexa”, “Google Home” and “Siri” are supported, but also service providers such as “IFTTT” or “SmartThings”.
Up to 8 months battery life
The SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 needs to be plugged in approximately every 8 months. It goes even longer with the optionally available solar panel, which supplies the curtain motor with electricity almost permanently.
