8,7" LC display
For 179 euros, the realme Pad Mini offers an 8,7" LC display with a resolution of 1340 x 800 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The display and hardware are packed into a 7,6 mm thin metal case that weighs 372 g. realme has kept the display edges narrow, so that a screen-to-body ratio of 84,59 percent is achieved. The built-in stereo speaker system with Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos support promises cinematic sounds.
Unisoc T616
No MediaTek, no Qualcomm - the hardware basis of the realme Pad Mini is the Unisoc T616 chip. Components include an 8-core CPU (2x Cortex-A75 @2,0 GHz, 6x Cortex-A55 @1,8 GHz) and an ARM Mali G57MP1 GPU. On the software side, the tablet ships with Android 11 (realme UI R Edition). The extent to which an update to Android 12 will be released is not (yet) known.
WiFi and 4G
There are differences in terms of connectivity. The tablet is available as a pure WiFi variant with 3+32GB or 4+64GB memory and as a WiFi+LTE variant with 4+64GB. The WiFi protocols IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, the mobile phone bands commonly used in this country and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported. The memory can be expanded in all models (microSD).
8MP + 5MP camera
The tablet is equipped with a camera at the front and rear. A 5 MP front camera is responsible for video telephony and selfies. An 8 MP main camera on the back takes snapshots. The maximum video resolution is 1080p30.
6400 mAh battery
The 6400 mAh battery promises long runtimes without constant recharging. According to realme, paired with the efficient Unisoc chip, up to 15,8 hours of video can be watched at a time. The battery is charged with up to 18W.
Price and availability
The realme Pad Mini starts in the smallest configuration with WiFi and 3+32GB memory for 179,99 euros in Europe. For the larger WiFi model with 4+64GB memory, you have to pay 199,99 euros and if you want additional LTE reception, you have to pay 229,99 euros. From May 17th, the tablet will be available in the realme online store or over Amazon .

Hello and thanks for the informative article. I've shortlisted the tablet for my daughter, but I'm not sure if she can use it to watch Netflix. Do you know more about this? LG Tamara

Hi Tamara, as far as I know, the realme Pad Mini supports Widevine L1, so films from Netflix and other streaming providers can be streamed in HD resolution.
