POCO has revamped its mid-range series with the X8 Pro and the new X8 Pro Max. The focus is once again on performance, gaming, and battery life.

POCO X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max

The POCO X8 Pro Max is the first smartphone with the new Dimensity 9500s. Manufactured using a 3nm process, the chip features an all-big-core design and, according to the manufacturer, is expected to achieve over 3 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark. The smaller X8 Pro uses the Dimensity 8500 Ultra, which offers significant improvements over its predecessor, particularly in the GPU. Both SoCs support hardware-based ray tracing.

For gaming, POCO integrates its own "WildBoost" optimization. This is designed to predict the load per frame and thus reduce frame drops. Additional features such as upscaling and HDR are also included. Cooling is handled by a liquid cooling system, the size of which varies depending on the model.

POCO has opted for high-capacity batteries. The X8 Pro Max offers 8.500 mAh, while the X8 Pro has 6.500 mAh. Both support 100W fast charging and reverse charging.

The displays measure 6,83 inches in the Max model and 6,59 inches in the X8 Pro. POCO specifies a peak brightness of up to 3.500 nits. High-frequency PWM dimming and several TÜV certifications ensure comfortable viewing.

POCO equips its X8 Pro Max with a 50 MP main sensor. The X8 Pro Max features the Light Fusion 600 sensor, while the X8 Pro uses a Sony IMX882. This is complemented by a 20 MP front camera and software features for fast burst shooting and AI-powered image processing.
