Two chips should enable up to 185 FPS
The POCO F9 Ultra uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, while the F9 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, V Series. Both models combine the main processor with the dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset for the first time in the F series. This chipset handles tasks such as AI Super Resolution, Game HDR, and frame interpolation for higher frame rates.
POCO advertises gaming at up to 185 frames per second. Compared to 120 FPS, shorter frame intervals and smoother rendering are said to offer advantages in fast-paced games. However, the actual achievable frame rate depends on the game, settings, software, temperature, and other factors. In benchmarks like AnTuTu, the graphics card combination achieves 4.165.108 points.
To ensure consistent performance even during extended gaming sessions, the device utilizes LiquidCool technology with a 3D IceLoop cooling system. This is complemented by high touch sampling rates of up to 4.800 Hz for single touches and up to 480 Hz for multi-touch input.
AMOLED with 185 Hz and extremely high peak brightness
For the display, POCO uses its HyperRGB AMOLED technology in both devices. The F9 Ultra offers a screen diagonal of 6,9 inches, while the F9 Pro is slightly more compact at 6,59 inches. Both panels support a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz.
POCO specifies a peak brightness of up to 4.500 nits in certain usage scenarios and up to 10.000 nits for HDR content on a small portion of the display. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are also supported. To protect the eyes, the manufacturer has integrated its Xiaomi Vision Care technology as well as several TÜV Rheinland certifications.
The models also differ in design. The F9 Ultra is available in Dark Cherry and black and features a dynamic light element on the back for notifications, calls, music, and gaming. The F9 Pro comes in black, white, and Aurora Green. The green version has a luminescent back that glows in the dark after exposure to light.
Bose sound and, for the first time in the Ultra, a separate subwoofer.
POCO places particular emphasis on the audio system. Both models bear the "Sound by Bose" label and were developed in collaboration with the audio specialist.
The F9 Ultra combines two symmetrical 1115D stereo speakers with a separate 1620 subwoofer to create a 2.1-channel system. The F9 Pro uses two 1115F stereo speakers. Users can choose between "Dynamic" and "Balanced" sound profiles. A special Game Audio Mode is designed to make footsteps in games more clearly audible.
8.050 mAh in the F9 Ultra, 100 watts in both models
The battery capacity is also comparatively generous. The POCO F9 Ultra has an 8.050 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, should allow for a runtime of up to two days. The more compact F9 Pro has a 6.330 mAh battery.
Both smartphones can be charged with up to 100 watts via cable or 50 watts wirelessly. Reverse charging is possible with up to 27 watts wired and 22,5 watts wirelessly.
200-megapixel camera for both models
Both the F9 Ultra and the F9 Pro feature a 200-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization. Each also includes a 32-megapixel front camera.
The F9 Ultra additionally offers a 50-megapixel periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS, as well as a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The F9 Pro, on the other hand, features a 50-megapixel floating telephoto lens with 2,5x zoom, which also enables close-up shots; it is complemented by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

The POCO F9 Pro starts at €899,90 for the version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The version with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs €999,90.
The POCO F9 Ultra has a starting price of €1.099,90 for the 12/256 GB version. The 16/512 GB version costs €1.199,90, and the top model with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage costs €1.399,90.
For the market launch from September 1st to 21st, POCO is offering significantly lower early-bird prices. During this period, the F9 Pro starts at €739,90 and the F9 Ultra at €829,90. The promotion is valid via mi.com.
