POCO F6
Let's start with the "small" POCO F6. For 499 euros (RRP) you can get the brand new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which has a slightly lower clock speed than its big brother 8 Gen 3 from the upper class, but still has a lot of power under the hood. Even with 5G and Wi-Fi 7 you don't have to make any compromises compared to the top chip. Nevertheless, this is a big leap compared to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 from the predecessor POCO F5.
Speaking of its predecessor: Xiaomi has made a few other adjustments to the POCO F6. Finally there is IP64 protection against dust and splash water. And the larger 5.000 mAh battery can be powered from 90 to 30% in just 0 minutes with 100 watt fast charging - a record in this price range!
The main camera still has a resolution of 50 megapixels, but has a larger f/1.59 aperture for better lowlight shots. By the way, it now also records 4K videos at a smooth 60 frames per second. At the front there is a 20 MP front camera for selfies.
With the 6,7 inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz everything remains the same. At least the particularly durable Gorilla Glass Victus now protects the panel.
LITTLE F6 Pro
If you want even more power, go for the POCO F6 Pro. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which powered most flagship smartphones last year, is installed here. Together with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, the smartphone is virtually “future-proof”.
By the way, when it comes to performance, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the POCO F6 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the POCO F6 Pro are neck and neck. In some benchmarks, the newer Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 can even just overtake its predecessor. However, this should hardly be noticeable in everyday life. Both are ideally equipped for demanding tasks.
The POCO F6 Pro is slightly better positioned when it comes to the camera, display and quick charging function. POCO uses a Light Fusion 800 image sensor with 50 MP resolution and an f/1.6 aperture, as well as an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP macro camera. The front camera has a slightly lower resolution of 16 megapixels than the POCO F6, but it takes sharper selfies.
The 6,67-inch AMOLED panel boasts WQHD+ resolution, 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 4.000 nits. A 5.000 mAh battery also ensures endurance. When things get tight, the 120W fast charging pumps the battery back up in record time. Unfortunately, wireless charging, which was still available in the predecessor, is no longer available.

Proud RRP, but street prices are likely to fall
The recommended retail prices starting at 449,90 euros for the F6 and starting at 579,90 euros for the F6 Pro are quite high. There are also strong competitors like this in a similar price range Google Pixel 8a. This scores points with an even better camera and, above all, with software updates guaranteed for seven years. The POCO F6 series promises three years of operating system updates (up to Android 17) and four years of security patches.
The smartphones will be available from May 23rd to May 30th Mi.com discounted at the early bird price:
- POCO F6 Pro (12GB + 256GB) for €579,90 (RRP) / Early Bird price: €499,90
- POCO F6 Pro (12GB + 512GB) for €629,90 (RRP) / Early Bird price: €549,90
- POCO F6 Pro (16GB + 1TB) for €699,90 (RRP) / Early Bird price: €599,90
- POCO F6 (8GB + 256GB) for €449,90 (RRP) / Early Bird price: €389,90
- POCO F6 (12GB + 512GB) for €499,90 (RRP) / Early Bird price: €419,90
If the street price continues to correct downwards, both the POCO F6 and the F6 Pro would certainly be two interesting alternatives.
