Design: Eye-catcher with marble look

The design of the OUKITEL C38 immediately catches the eye and is reminiscent of the HUAWEI Nova 9 due to the striking camera arrangement. The new mint green color variant is particularly striking, which, according to OUKITEL, should radiate freshness and liveliness.

According to the manufacturer, the back is inspired by traditional Chinese ink painting and has a marble-like texture, which definitely looks impressive. If that's too unusual for you, you can also choose the classic colors black or white.

Despite the large 6,6-inch display, the C38 is pleasantly slim and light with a thickness of only 8,8 mm and a weight of 200 g. The screen has a resolution of 2408 x 1080 pixels and is protected from scratches and breakage by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The refresh rate stops at 60 Hz.

Solid technology at a fair price

Inside the OUKITEL C38 is the MediaTek MT8788 octa-core processor, which is supported by 6 GB of RAM (LPDDR4x). The internal memory is large at 256 GB (UFS2.1) and can be expanded by up to 1 TB using a microSD card if necessary. This means that even demanding users should have enough space for their apps, photos and videos.

When it comes to RAM, OUKITEL relies on an interesting solution: the system can expand the physical 6 GB of RAM to a total of 24 GB of RAM. This is made possible by reducing 18 GB of internal memory. In practice, however, these artificial “RAM expanders” make little sense, as the compromised internal memory usually works much slower.

The C38's battery holds a decent 5150 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, should be enough for a whole month of standby or 26 hours of music playback. OUKITEL could still improve the charging speed a bit, because at 18 watts the C38 is not exactly a fast charger.

Cameras for everyday life

On the back, OUKITEL installs a quadruple camera with a 48 MP IMX582 main sensor from Sony. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP and uses a Samsung GD1 sensor. This should make it possible to take usable photos in everyday life, even if you can't expect high-end quality and the sensor technology has been around for a few years.
