Design reveal in advance, pink as an addition
The basic design is no longer a secret. Nothing has already shown the back of the phone (4a) in advance, including the transparent casing, redesigned glyph bar and triple camera module.
A new color option, pink, is now available alongside the previously teased white version. According to Nothing, this is the first time a pink version has been included in their smartphone portfolio. The color is intended to emphasize a more expressive design direction, influenced by art, fashion, and pop culture.
Pink + transparent = bubblegum vibes
Pink is not new to the smartphone market. Apple also offers current models like the iPhone 16 in corresponding shades. However, there it remains one of several color options on a sealed glass or aluminum surface.
On the Phone (4a), pink has a different effect because it interacts with the transparent design language. The color isn't simply applied to the surface, but rather interacts with the underlying structure. Screws, coils, and covers remain visible, creating a noticeable sense of depth. The result is more reminiscent of translucent plastic products from the early 2000s than classic smartphone paint finishes.
Nothing describes the tone as a desaturated red used in the transparent layer. Depending on the angle of the light, the perception changes from a light, almost pastel appearance to more intense nuances.
Glyph bar and triple camera
The Phone (4a) retains its transparent back and a redesigned glyph bar with individually addressable LEDs. This lighting system serves as a notification indicator for calls, timers, or other system functions. The new design appears more streamlined and functional than previous models.
On the back is a pill-shaped triple-camera module, with the LED flash located outside the camera unit. Volume and power buttons are on the right, and an additional button is visible on the left side.
Snapdragon chip confirmed
Nothing has already confirmed that the Phone (4a) series will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Rumors suggest it will use a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. A 6,7-inch AMOLED display with 1,5K resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate, as well as a 5.400 mAh battery with 50W fast charging, are also expected.
As with its predecessor, a Pro version is also expected to be released alongside the standard model.
Launch on March 5th
The full presentation will take place on March 5th as part of the "Built Different" event. Nothing will broadcast the presentation live from London.
