The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, which has the model number A142P and the code name Mega Aerodactyl, is said to differ from its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2a), primarily in its more powerful processor. Instead of a MediaTek chip, the new variant is said to be equipped with a Qualcomm SoC. Insiders suspect that this could be either the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 or the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip. This promises more performance and optimized energy efficiency.

In addition to the new processor, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will probably also have a high-quality glass back and a robust aluminum frame. The camera is also expected to be upgraded. According to rumors, the main module will be the Sony LYT-600 sensor, which recently impressed with usable photo and video recordings in the realme GT 6T.

There will also be adjustments to the display, which will have a peak brightness of up to 2000 nits for improved readability even in direct sunlight. In addition, wireless charging will be supported, which is rarely the case with mid-range devices.

How the smartphone compares in price to the Phone (2a) (from 329 euros RRP) and the  Telephone (2) (from 649 euros RRP) is not yet known. The price is probably somewhere in between. In addition, availability in Germany, Austria and Switzerland will only be announced at a later date.
