A community project
For six months, Nothing actively involved its global community in the design of the Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition. The company not only collected ideas, but also invited users to help shape the device in four key areas: hardware, background design, packaging and marketing.
Four creative winners and their projects
The project was implemented in several phases together with the community. Four selected fans were finally given the opportunity to further develop their ideas in close cooperation with the Nothing team in London. Nothing's goal is to remove the boundaries between companies and users and to develop unique products together.
- Hardware design: Astrid Vanhuyse and Kenta Akasaki worked with the Nothing team to develop a luminous back that works without a power source. The phosphorescent materials used charge during the day and glow for several hours in the dark.

- Wallpaper design: Andrés Mateos worked with the software design team to design six new wallpapers that perfectly complement the aesthetic of the new design, using a combination of AI tools and creative input to create a “Connected Collection.”

- Packaging design: Ian Henry Simmonds opted for a minimalist concept that takes up the reflective elements of the hardware design. His "less is more" approach makes the packaging a coherent part of the product identity.

- Marketing campaign: Sonya Palma brought it all together with her campaign "Find your light. Catch your light." The message aims to showcase the concept of inner strength and individuality. Working closely with Nothing's creative team, she created a film campaign and a series of digital ads that underline the special spirit of the smartphone.
