Flagship break: No Nothing (4) in 2026!
Nothing CEO Carl Pei gives a preview of 2026 and clarifies that there will be no Nothing Phone (4) released this year. "Just because the industry does things a certain way doesn't mean we have to. We want every upgrade to be a real step forward," says Pei.
Instead, the Telephone (3) The current flagship is receiving plenty of love via software. With Nothing OS 4.0, the so-called "Essential Apps" are introduced. You simply describe your needs to the system, and the AI automatically creates the appropriate app or widget.
The (a) series is on its way
While its flagship phone is taking a break, Nothing is going full throttle with its budget line. The Phone (4a) is ready to launch and could be released as early as March, just in time for the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Pei promises premium materials, new colors, and camera performance that comes incredibly close to that of high-end devices.
Furthermore, Nothing plans to expand its audio offerings. Following the success of... Headphone (1) The portfolio of over-ear headphones is slated for targeted expansion in 2026. Details are still under wraps, but it will be interesting to see if Nothing reinvents the design wheel here as well.
Prices will rise
Carl Pei doesn't shy away from uncomfortable topics either. RAM prices are rising sharply worldwide, driven by the AI boom.
Nothing, and presumably other manufacturers as well, will have to raise smartphone prices. At least there's a small consolation: an upgrade to faster UFS 3.1 storage across the entire product line.
Phase 2: From Startup to Cult Label
With over $1 billion in revenue and achieving unicorn status, 2025 was a mega year for Nothing. Now the brand is to mature without losing its edge.
With Charlie Smith (formerly CMO at the luxury brand Loewe) as the new Chief Brand Officer, the company is bringing considerable high-end expertise on board.
In parallel, the company is further expanding its presence. In the first quarter of 2026, Nothing will move into a new headquarters in London, and on February 14th, its second global store will open in Bengaluru, India. Stores in New York and Tokyo are already in the planning stages.
