Design and workmanship
The first impression is impressive. Both the Laifen T1 Pro and the P3 Pro look more like high-end gadgets than traditional razors. Both models are made almost entirely of precisely milled and cleanly finished aluminum. At 93 grams, the T1 Pro feels almost feather-light, but thanks to its matte finish, it sits securely in the hand. The design is clean, simple, and reduced to functionality. A single button controls operation, and a small LED indicates the status. That's all you need.

The P3 Pro takes a bolder approach visually. At around 180 grams, it's noticeably heavier, giving it a significantly more substantial feel. The glass viewing window on the front provides a view of the motor. A detail that stands out without being obtrusive and lends the device a technical character. Despite its weight, the P3 Pro remains well balanced, making it pleasantly steady to guide while shaving.

Both models are IPX7 waterproof and can be cleaned under running water. Laifen deliberately omitted rubberized grips, which benefits the minimalist style, but requires a bit more control when using the keyboard with wet hands. The build quality is impeccable. No play in the keys, no irregular gaps, and no plastic to spoil the overall impression.
Laifen offers both models in space gray and aluminum silver, and the T1 Pro also comes in a striking blue special edition. However, Laifen is unusually sparing in the scope of delivery. A carrying case, brush, and mechanical oil are not included. Those who want to transport the razor safely will need to purchase the matching travel case separately. Depending on the model, this costs an additional €25 to €30. Given the premium quality, this seems a bit pricey.

Shaving in everyday life
Shaving performance and skin feel
When it comes to shaving, both razors demonstrate that Laifen focuses on more than just looks. The Laifen T1 Pro may seem inconspicuous at first glance, but its precision impresses. Its linear motor operates at 12.000 strokes per minute, resulting in a smooth, quiet cut. On short beards, about one to two days old, the shaving head glides smoothly over the skin and removes stubble cleanly without pulling or requiring pressure. The result is even, and the skin remains calm, even on sensitive necks.

The handling demonstrates the sophisticated nature of the compact design. The slim handle sits securely in the hand, and the light weight facilitates precise movements, such as along the jawline or under the nose. The center of gravity is positioned so that the razor remains comfortable to use even during longer sessions. The smooth surface feels high-quality, but can become slightly slippery with wet hands. A small price to pay for the minimalist design, one that can easily be compensated for with a firm grip.
If you haven't shaved for a few days, you can switch to the trimmer attachment. The head can be removed magnetically and replaces the fine ArcBlade foil with a classic cutting unit with comb attachments (2, 3 and 5 mm). This allows you to first trim longer or thicker beard hairs before finishing with the shaving head. In practice, this works well as long as the beard is not too thick or too long. With thick hair, the trimmer tends to tear easily, especially if you work too quickly or go against the grain. In addition, the comb attachments are a bit loose and wobble when moved over the skin, which makes precise work difficult. A Philips OneBlade solves this problem more securely and also cuts more cleanly in this area.

Nevertheless, the combination of shaving and trimmer heads is practical for everyday use. You can quickly trim longer beard hairs to the right length and then neatly trim them with the foil shaver. This makes the T1 Pro more versatile than many classic foil shavers, but it's not a replacement for a full-fledged trimmer. The trimmer function is more of a useful addition than the main feature. Those who regularly trim or shape beard contours are better off using a specialized device. However, for neat, close shaves and precise edges, the T1 Pro is perfectly adequate.

The Laifen P3 Pro, on the other hand, is a different caliber. It uses two motors, each with 12.000 movements per minute, which drive three spring-loaded blades. This provides noticeably more power and tackles larger areas faster. The outer foils capture short hairs, while the middle trimmer blade trims longer hairs. The combination ensures a smooth, close shave, even with denser beard growth. Despite its power, the P3 Pro remains pleasantly quiet. Its deep, even humming sound conveys a high-quality, quiet feel. A very pleasant contrast to many conventional razors, which are considerably louder.

The P3 Pro feels solid and balanced in handling. It's heavier, but feels stable in the hand and allows for controlled movements over larger areas. The power button on the side is easy to reach, but can be accidentally pressed while holding.
Cleaning and care
Maintenance is easier with both razors. Thanks to their IPX7 protection, they can be completely rinsed under running water. With the T1 Pro, a quick rinse of the shaving head is often sufficient; the P3 Pro, with its three blades, takes a little longer but can be cleaned just as quickly.
Even without regular lubrication, both engines run quietly, consistently, and without noticeable wear, even after several weeks of testing. This speaks volumes about the high-quality workmanship and precise tuning of the internal mechanics.
Travel suitability and battery
Both razors are clearly designed for mobility. They're compact enough to easily fit in your toiletry bag, and with USB-C, they can be charged anywhere. No special power adapter or proprietary cable is required. Your smartphone charger is perfectly sufficient. So, if you're on the go, you can easily charge the razors with the same power adapter and cable you're already packing.

According to the manufacturer, one minute of charging provides approximately eight minutes of battery life, and a full charge takes just under two hours. In our tests, a full charge on the T1 Pro lasted for about two weeks of daily use, while the P3 Pro lasted for about ten days. A small LED indicates the battery level on both.

A small but practical detail is the flight mode, which Laifen also offers on the Laifen Wave (our test). This deactivates the power button and prevents the device from accidentally turning on in the case.
