Improved camera support on Android
With this update, Insta360 has improved native support for multiple camera lenses on Android devices. Users of a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra or current models from Google, Huawei, Vivo, and OPPO can now access the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses with the Flow 2, further expanding the range of possible shots.
Also new is 360 Panorama 2.0. While the feature existed previously, version 2.0 makes stitching 360-degree images 50 percent faster, taking only about 20 seconds. The panoramas can then be flexibly cropped or shared as interactive content on platforms like TikTok or Instagram.
Dual View and Apple Watch control
The update also introduces a dual-view mode. This allows simultaneous recording with the front and main cameras or two rear cameras. Ideal for vlogs or reaction videos, this creates multiple perspectives in a single take.
For iPhone users, there is also the option of controlling the camera via the Apple Watch. Recording, zooming, and modes can be operated directly from the wrist without having to touch the smartphone.
More AI features for flexible filming
Furthermore, Insta360 is expanding the AI capabilities of its gimbals. These include, among other things:
- Improved AI tracking for various apps and scenarios
- Remote control via a second smartphone
- Multi-person tracking for group photos
- Active Zoom Tracking with up to 15x zoom for moving subjects
These features are primarily intended to help solo creators achieve dynamic recordings without additional support.
Update available now
The update is now available via the Insta360 app and on the manufacturer's official website. The specific features supported depend on the individual smartphone model.
