Professional running analysis for training and competition
The WATCH GT Runner 2 is aimed at both recreational runners and performance-oriented athletes. Technically, the model utilizes an advanced 3D floating antenna architecture with an optimized antenna design. This is intended to further improve GPS accuracy compared to its predecessor, even in challenging environments such as tunnels, between tall buildings, or in densely wooded areas.
A key feature is the intelligent marathon mode. This accompanies users with personalized training plans, real-time data during the run, and detailed analyses after training or competition. The smartwatch thus functions as a digital running coach on the wrist, specifically designed to support training management, stress analysis, and performance optimization.
Two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge appeared as a global brand ambassador. He emphasized the importance of structured training data and highlighted that his sporting expertise had been incorporated into the development of the features, with the aim of supporting runners worldwide.
Contactless payment with Curve Pay
Alongside the new running watch, HUAWEI is introducing the Curve Pay payment function in selected markets. By integrating it into the wearable ecosystem, users can make contactless payments directly via their smartwatch, eliminating the need for their smartphone and wallet during workouts or everyday activities.
According to Shachar Bialick, CEO and founder of Curve, the partnership is intended to offer more flexibility, especially for fitness enthusiasts, and to simplify mobile payments in the sports environment.
HUAWEI Volume 11 Series
HUAWEI also showcased the Band 11 series as another wearable for fitness enthusiasts. This smartband is designed as a slim companion for daily fitness tracking and features a larger, high-resolution display that remains easily readable even in direct sunlight. It also includes classic health and activity functions for everyday life and workouts.
Availability
The HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 will be available in Germany from March 25, 2026, in the HUAWEI Online Store, the Berlin Flagship Store, and at selected retailers. It will be offered in the colors Dusk Blue, Dawn Orange, and Midnight Black.
