Introduction
Cordless vacuum cleaners have long since become established in everyday life. They're quick to set up, flexible, and significantly more convenient than traditional corded models. However, there's one issue that still holds many models back: dealing with the dustbin after vacuuming. Emptying the dustbin, tapping out the filter, and then dealing with fine particles in the air. For me, this is where the promise of convenience often falls short.
Hoover promises that the HF3 Pro not only provides thorough cleaning, but also hygienic and convenient cleaning. The automatic emptying and charging station plays a key role in this.

Design, workmanship and first impression
Visually, the Hoover HF3 Pro looks modern, but not gimmicky. The design is functional, clean, and geared towards everyday use. No excessive high gloss, no unnecessary frills. The materials feel solid; nothing creaks or feels cheap.
Weighing just 2,54 kg, this cordless vacuum cleaner is pleasantly lightweight. This is especially beneficial during extended vacuuming sessions or when cleaning overhead (e.g., cobwebs, shelves). The weight distribution is well-designed, preventing the vacuum from feeling top-heavy and allowing it to glide smoothly.
The vacuum station is slim, tall, and can easily be placed in a corner. In my case, I deliberately opted against the wall mount and use only the station, which also serves as a charging point and storage unit.
Automatic suction station – a real comfort upgrade

One of the key unique features of the Hoover HF3 Pro is its automatic emptying and charging station. After each cleaning cycle, I simply place the vacuum cleaner in the station. The rest happens automatically.
The dust is vacuumed from the 0,7-liter container into a 3-liter dust bag. According to Hoover, one bag lasts for up to 100 days, which seems realistic unless you have a large family with pets.
In everyday life, this means:
- No contact with dust
- No need to tap out the container.
- No vacuuming of fine dust
This is a clear advantage, especially for allergy sufferers or people with sensitive skin. The suction itself is audible, but short and significantly more pleasant than manual emptying.
Suction power: More than sufficient for everyday use

With up to 150 AirWatts of suction power, the brushless motor delivers clean results. What's important here isn't so much the raw number, but rather what actually reaches the floor.
- Hard floors: Dust, crumbs, fine dirt – everything is reliably picked up.
- Carpet: The HF3 Pro really shows what it can do, especially on short and medium pile carpets.
- Edges & corners: The double-sided mounting of the floor nozzle works visibly effectively.
The suction power remains constant throughout the entire runtime, without a significant drop after a few minutes, as is usually the case with cheaper cordless vacuum cleaners.
LED floor nozzle & anti-twist brush

The integrated LEDs on the floor nozzle are not a marketing gimmick, but genuinely useful. On dark floors or in oblique lighting conditions, dust particles that I would otherwise have overlooked become much more visible.
Another positive feature is the anti-twist brush roller. Hair, whether long or short, hardly wraps around the roller. This is a significant improvement compared to my previous Xiaomi device, making maintenance even easier.

Runtime & Battery: Realistically Assessed
Hoover specifies a maximum runtime of up to 60 minutes. In practice, however, this depends heavily on the mode used. Realistically, the following are more realistic:
- Approximately 25–30 minutes at higher suction power
- significantly longer in Eco mode
A single battery charge is easily enough for a complete cleaning of my apartment. The charging time of around 4 hours is average, but thanks to the self-emptying station, it's not a problem, as the vacuum cleaner is always "parked" anyway.
Filter system & hygiene

According to the manufacturer, the HEPA 13 filter retains 99,9% of dust particles. Combined with the multi-layered filter system, this ensures clean exhaust air. This is a significant advantage, especially for allergy sufferers or sensitive individuals.
The EPA filter is washable, which saves costs in the long run. It's important to let it dry completely before using it again.

No overloaded accessory package, but everything you actually use in everyday life. The crevice tool is regularly used on sofas, car seats, or baseboards.
Storage & Everyday Usability
Hoover does supply a wall mount, but I personally only use the self-emptying base. It's stable, space-saving, and keeps the vacuum cleaner ready to use at all times. This feature, in particular, encourages me to do a quick vacuum more often.
Warranty & Service
Hoover offers a 3-year warranty for the HF series upon registration, provided the device is registered within 30 days.
Comparison to Xiaomi – my personal assessment
I previously only owned a Xiaomi cordless vacuum cleaner and a Dreame wet/dry vacuum. Technically sound, but:
- No automatic emptying (at least on the devices I've had)
- more hair tangles
- less comfort in everyday life
- inferior battery
The Hoover HF3 Pro appears more sophisticated, mature, and optimized for everyday use and hygiene. It's clear that Hoover has incorporated a great deal of experience from traditional vacuum cleaners into its design.
I never thought I'd say it so clearly, but Hoover will now be right at the top of my list of household appliance manufacturers!
Price-Performance Ratio
At the current price of €229, the Hoover HF3 Pro is very attractive in my opinion. The self-emptying station alone clearly sets it apart from many competitors. Would I buy it at the RRP of €319? Probably, but with the current discount, the offer is particularly appealing.
