Android 16 including new features
MagicOS 10 is based on Android 16 and brings innovations that affect both the look and system functions. These include:
- Support for the Bluetooth codec LHDC
- Improved network performance
- Ultra-Dark mode for eye-friendly work
- Optimized NFC swipe
- Customizable lock screen widgets
- More personalization options in the Control Center
There's also supposed to be some improvements under the hood, such as battery life and system performance. This is precisely where there was some room for improvement in the past.
Smart Capsule is being expanded
Particular attention is paid to the so-called Smart Capsule, HONOR's dynamic information overlay at the top of the screen. Similar to Apple's Dynamic Island, it will be even more deeply integrated into the user interface in MagicOS 10.
New animations and information are planned for:
- screen Capture
- Battery status
- Face recognition
- Music playback
- Flashlight
- as well as third-party apps such as Taobao or JD (China)
How to join the beta test
HONOR Magic 7 Pro users can sign up directly in the My HONOR app under "Beta Tester Recruitment." The beta will then be rolled out gradually to selected users over the coming weeks. Other models such as the Magic 6 Pro, Magic V3, or Magic 400 are expected to follow in the near future.
When will the final update be released?
An exact release date for MagicOS 10 has not yet been determined. It's conceivable that HONOR will release the update in conjunction with the launch of the Magic 8 series in China, which, according to current rumors, could take place in October. Experience has shown that HONOR's beta phases last around two to three months.
