Pixel 8a costs the same in the USA as its predecessor
Contrary to previous rumors, the Pixel 8a will not be more expensive in the USA than the Pixel 7a when it is released. According to information from Smartprix, the version with 128 GB of storage costs $499, the 256 GB version costs $559.

Even if there is no concrete information about the Pixel 8a price in Germany yet, it can be easily estimated. The Pixel 7a came onto the market in this country for 509 euros - slightly more than the converted US price of around 409 euros at the exchange rate at the time.
Based on the current price, the Pixel 8a should go on sale in Germany for around 549 euros. Discount campaigns and pre-order bonuses could push the price down to the level of the US version at the start.

Leak shows new color
In another leak, renderings of the official cases appeared, showing the smartphone in the colors Bay, Mint, Obsidian and Porcelain. Interesting: In some pictures the Pixel 8a can be seen in "Coral" - Google may bring this color onto the market later.

Compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 8a is rumored to score points with a 120 Hz OLED display, a larger 4.500 mAh battery and the powerful Tensor G3 chip, which is also used in the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
We'll probably find out all the details on May 14th at Google I/O. Together with Google's AI functions, the Pixel 8a should become a convincing choice in the mid-range.
