Dreame X50 Ultra Complete – This vacuum robot climbs over door thresholds

Published by Timo Altmeyer on the 8. January 2025

The Dreame X50 Ultra Complete is announcing itself and is not doing things by halves. With a huge list of features and a dose of technological know-how that would make even Iron Man jealous, the new Dreame flagship is a real challenge to dust.

ProLeap™: Doorsteps, here we come

Let's start with what Dreame advertises the loudest - the ProLeap™ system. Door thresholds or small steps, which previously seemed like an insurmountable hurdle for many robots, are now supposed to be mastered by the X50 Ultra with no problem.

With the help of an extendable arm on the underside, it lifts itself elegantly over obstacles up to 6 cm high. This is a real selling point, especially for older apartments or rooms with thick door frames.

Flat enough for the last dust crumb

Also new is the VersaLift technology. The X50 Ultra simply retracts its laser tower and shrinks to a compact height of 8,9 cm. Even if this is only a 1-2 cm difference in height compared to most other models without a retractable laser tower, the X50 Ultra can get under significantly more furniture.

Navigation is done using a 360° DToF scanner and a lot of artificial intelligence. This is supposed to recognize up to 200 different obstacles. To ensure that this also works in dark rooms, it is equipped with LED headlights in the direction of travel.

The robot can then be controlled as desired using the Dreamehome app. Divide rooms, set up virtual walls or even activate a “pet search mode”. Yes, the robot can find your pet and take a photo of it!

With 20.000 Pa against dirt

With 20.000 Pascal suction power, the X50 Ultra is one of the most powerful robots in its class. In addition, the new HyperStream™ Detangling DuoBrush promises that even long hair does not get tangled and it automatically raises the brush when the robot detects carpets.

Everything that was good about the predecessor has remained. The automatic mop lift ensures that carpets stay clean, while the extendable mop and the flexible side brush work thoroughly in corners and edges.

The base station takes care of almost everything when it comes to maintenance. It cleans the mops with 80 °C hot water, dries them with hot air, refills water, empties the dust container and automatically mixes cleaning agents into the cleaning water.

New are the two invisibly integrated UV lamps, which according to Dreame eliminate 99% of bacteria. Dreame promises that you don't have to worry about anything for up to 100 days.

 Price and availability

The Dreame X50 Ultra Complete will launch on January 15, 2025 and is expected to cost 1.599 euros. This means it will compete with devices like the Roborock Saros 10 with a similar price.

  • Hello Timo, I'm currently undecided between a Roborock Saros and this one. Which one would you recommend? I have two cats, so the brush sounds very interesting. I don't have any high door thresholds. What it should be able to do well is primarily vacuum and mop and avoid minor mishaps of my two darlings.
