Wiper roller as the next step
The mop roller is currently considered the next step in the development of smart floor cleaning. Instead of the traditional two-mopping system, Dreame's Aqua10 uses a wide roller that is continuously moistened with fresh water during operation. An integrated scraper removes dirt directly during the cleaning process. This ensures that the roller stays clean at all times and doesn't redistribute dirt.

Many existing systems require regular stops at the station. With the Aqua10, this cleaning step occurs directly during mopping. However, the principle of the mop roller is not entirely new. ECOVACS has already gained experience with roller technology with the DEEBOT X8 Pro Omni, as has Dreame's own sub-brand "Mova" with the Z50 Ultra. Tests show that a mop roller can often clean surfaces more thoroughly than pads or mops.
Dreame, however, goes one step further than other manufacturers. The Aqua10 Ultra Roller combines real-time cleaning of the roller with an automatic hot water treatment in the station. There, the roller is rinsed at 100 degrees Celsius and dried at 60 degrees Celsius to prevent bacteria and odors. At the same time, the dust container is also dehumidified. This is intended to ensure greater hygiene, especially in households with pets or with daily use.
Real-time detection with Nvidia chip
For spatial orientation, Dreame relies on a hybrid navigation system that combines a retractable laser sensor (LDS) with two HD cameras. The analysis is supported by an Nvidia chip, which, according to the manufacturer, can recognize over 240 different object types, including furniture edges, cables, slippers, and even food bowls. Object recognition takes place in real time and should ensure that the robot navigates efficiently even in densely furnished or busy homes without getting stuck.

The chassis dynamically adapts to its surroundings. The Aqua10 can independently negotiate door thresholds or carpet edges up to eight centimeters high. In low areas, such as under beds or sofas, the laser tower automatically retracts to reduce the overall height.
Pet Care 4.0
Pet Care 4.0 automatically detects typical pet areas such as food bowls, water bowls, and litter boxes and marks them on the map. The app can then be used to specify whether these areas should be left out or cleaned particularly thoroughly, for example, if food scraps or litter regularly accumulate there.
If your four-legged friend is currently in one of the areas, the Aqua10 Ultra Roller skips the area, remembers the skipped area, and cleans it as soon as it's clear. Combined with the camera and two-way audio, the Aqua10 can also be used as a mobile pet camera for a short time.

Price and availability
Two versions are planned: a standard version with a water tank and a version with a fixed water connection. The Aqua10 is already available in Singapore, where it is priced at around €1200. A launch for the European market is expected in the fourth quarter of 2025. A presentation at the IFA in Berlin is therefore likely.
Whether the Aqua10 will replace mops and pads remains to be seen. Many details seem well thought out, especially the combination of real-time cleaning and hot water. Ultimately, however, the decisive factor will be how well the system works in everyday life and whether the technology actually makes the difference that Dreame promises.
