DESI Plasma-Fluider - Alternative disinfection
Purely water-based disinfection, without any additional chemicals. What at first sounds like hocus-pocus is based on the electrolysis of water, during which reactive hydroxyl radicals are formed.
The DESI Plasma-Fluider is a water conditioner for private households and businesses that makes use of precisely this process.
Functionality
The DESI Plasma-Fluider is divided into a base unit with a plasma generator and a disinfection container with a capacity of 9 liters. To carry out the disinfection process, the container is filled with ordinary tap water and the things to be disinfected are placed in the water.
Food, such as fruit and vegetables, or meat and fish, as well as dishes, baby bottles or other objects can be disinfected. An additional basket ensures that floating objects are kept in the water.
The DESI plasma fluid is operated via a touch-sensitive control panel. All programs have their own key. By selecting the program, the disinfection process is started in the respective program mode at the same time.
During the almost noiseless process, the water becomes slightly milky and small bubbles rise from the plasma generator. Depending on the mode, the disinfection process takes between 20 and 40 minutes. The process time can be lengthened or shortened using the timer buttons + and -. A circular function light shows the remaining time.
Disinfection circuit
DESI describes the disinfection cycle as follows: Electrolysis of the water (H2O) breaks it down into hydrogen (H +) and hydroxide ions (OH−). The released hydroxyl radicals are so reactive that they collide with bacteria, viruses and spores and destroy them. Then hydrogen and hydroxide ions combine again to form water.
Mode of action
The hydroxyl radical is also known as the detergent of the atmosphere. Its reactive behavior contributes to the breakdown of a large number of different chemical compounds. Using our atmosphere as an example, it reduces greenhouse gases.
In the DESI plasma fluid, the hydroxyl radical decomposes harmful substances on the surfaces of the objects to be treated. In addition to the bacteria, viruses and spores mentioned, this also includes pesticide residues on food or detergent residues on dishes. DESI promises a 99% elimination rate of bacteria, viruses and pesticides. Disinfection with the DESI Plasma-Fluider is an environmentally friendly, low-temperature disinfection method that does not require any chemicals.

A positive side effect is the creation of water-based disinfectants. The electrolysis produces further oxidizing agents in the form of hydrogen peroxide and ozone. That is why you shouldn't use metals with the DESI plasma fluid, as they can react with the by-products. Both oxidizing agents are bactericidal and also work against viruses.
DESI product line
