Larger display, new housing
The display grows from 1,32 inches to 1,43 inches. It's again an AMOLED panel, this time with a higher brightness of 650 nits (instead of 620 nits) and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The resolution remains at 466 × 466 pixels.
The larger display increases the case size to 47 mm, and the weight varies between approximately 51 and 52 g depending on the color. The case now consists of a milled metal frame and is protected against dust and water according to IP68. Hardware components such as the bezel are no longer replaceable, but are permanently installed. The watch is available in three colors: Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Orange.
More sensors with improved accuracy
A new 4-channel heart rate sensor is designed to deliver better results across a wide range of skin tones and training intensities. Other features include SpO₂ measurement, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, and cycle tracking.
The Watch 3 Pro now uses dual-band GPS (L1+L5) for positioning and also supports GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS. This should also ensure greater tracking accuracy compared to the single-band GPS solution of its predecessor.
There have also been some changes in the sports sector. Instead of 120, there are now 131 sport modes, seven of which the watch recognizes automatically. Before a workout, there are optional animated warm-up instructions on the display. Also new is the Active Score, a kind of weekly rating that compresses training minutes, intensity, and recovery into a simple value.
ChatGPT on your wrist
ChatGPT is an integral part of the Watch 3 Pro. You can ask questions, take notes, or create personalized training plans using voice commands. Voice notes are automatically transcribed, and the "Essential News" feature delivers the latest headlines directly to your wrist.
Bluetooth calls now work with two microphones and AI-based noise cancellation. Functions can be triggered via gestures, such as tilting or double shaking.
Battery life and new app
The battery capacity has increased from 305 to 350 mAh. According to CMF, the battery life is 13 days with typical use and about 4,5 days with the always-on display. Charging takes about 99 minutes.
There are also changes to the software. Like all other Nothing products, the Watch 3 Pro now uses the Nothing X app, which offers a more stable connection, a redesigned interface, and support for Strava, Apple Health, and Google Health Connect.
