What we know so far

As usual, Nothing is still holding back on official details, but teasers and leaks already offer a sneak peek. The CMF Phone 2 Pro remains visually true to its predecessor, but this time it will most likely feature a textured surface with a matte finish. According to the manufacturer, this will provide a "tactile, new feel."

The signature visible screws are making a comeback and could once again serve as anchor points for interchangeable backs and accessories. The shape of the casing has also apparently been redesigned. Smoother transitions between the back and frame should improve handling, making the Phone 2 Pro appear a bit more mature than its predecessor.

Review: This was the CMF Phone 1

The  CMF Phone 1 (our review)  Released in summer 2023, it surprised with a bold design and plenty of character for a small price. In our test, it impressed with a bright AMOLED display, solid performance, and strong battery life. The back could be removed and swapped for colorful versions or practical accessories. A gimmick that was well received by many.

However, there were also clear weaknesses. The camera wasn't a revelation in low light, NFC was completely absent, and the single speaker left sound enthusiasts cold. Nevertheless, the CMF Phone 1 was a true flagship in its price range, especially for users who valued individuality.

The camera – the big question mark

With its successor, CMF apparently wants to build on the flaws of the first model. An official teaser speaks of the "search for the perfect photo." Accompanying leaks speak of a triple-camera setup, including an improved 50-megapixel main sensor and an ultra-wide-angle camera. This would be a real step forward, should this prove to be true, as the first model had a lot of catching up to do, especially in terms of photography versatility.

Under the hood: More power for everyday use

The internals also appear to be getting an upgrade. A 6,67-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor, and a 5.000 mAh battery are expected. Overall, enough power for a long day. Rumors also speak of up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. If the price drops below €250 again, the CMF should be a hot candidate for value-for-money fans again this year.

Three new buds for every taste

In addition to the smartphone, CMF is also launching an entire lineup of headphones. The CMF Buds 2, 2a, and 2 Pro are designed to cover a variety of needs, from entry-level to premium models. While no specific details on technology and features are available yet, active noise cancellation, better battery life, and smarter touch controls are likely to be on the list, at least for the Pro models.
