The Boya Notra Neo offers this
The Notra Neo supports three recording modes: ambient sound recording, phone calls, and Bluetooth audio. The device is designed to automatically recognize the current usage scenario and switch between the appropriate recording modes. According to Boya, when recording on-site conversations, the recorder captures voices within a radius of up to five meters and in all directions.
The real added value, however, lies in the AI functions. Recordings can be transcribed in more than 140 languages and dialects, including speaker recognition. The software can then create summaries, to-do lists, and mind maps, among other things. In addition, more than 60 templates are available. An AI search function helps users find specific information even in older recordings without having to spend hours scrolling through audio files.
Recordings can be managed, transcribed, and exported across devices via the Boya OS app and the web interface. Boya specifies export options for audio, transcripts, summaries, and mind maps.
Affordable entry into the Notra series
The Neo is positioned as the entry-level model within the Notra series. Compared to the regular Boya Notra, some hardware specifications have been reduced. Instead of 64 GB of storage, the Notra Neo offers 8 GB, the battery life drops from up to 24 hours to up to 20 hours, and the maximum recording range decreases from ten to five meters. However, according to Boya, the three recording modes and the core AI functions remain unchanged.
For students, young professionals, or anyone looking for an AI recorder primarily for lectures, meetings, and phone calls, the Neo likely offers the better value for money. However, those needing significantly more local storage or a greater recording range will find the more expensive Notra offers slightly more powerful hardware.
Boya Notra Neo for 78,32 euros instead of 89 euros
According to the manufacturer, pre-orders for the Boya Notra Neo have been possible since August 24, 2026. The reduced price is €78.32 instead of the recommended retail price of €89. The official market launch will follow on September 4, 2026, at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Boya will be showcasing the recorder there from September 4 to 8 in Hall 20, Booth 132.
