2,56 kWh storage with up to 2.400 watts

The Balco 260 features an integrated 2.560 watt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery that stores excess solar power and releases it later. Up to five BC-260 expansion batteries can be connected, increasing the total capacity to 15.360 watt-hours.

On the solar side, the Balco 260 processes an input power of up to 2.400 watts, with a permissible voltage range of 16 to 60 volts DC. This allows the system to operate with more module power than is theoretically permitted to be fed into the grid via the house connection.

The increased PV output therefore primarily serves to charge the battery faster and to achieve sufficient power even in weaker sunlight. Regardless, the feed-in to the house grid remains limited to the permissible value.

For consumers, the Balco 260 has a separate AC output that operates at up to 1.200 watts. If additional power is drawn from the mains, BLUETTI specifies a combined output power of up to 2.300 watts.

This also allows the connection of devices whose power consumption exceeds the normal feed-in capacity of a balcony power plant. However, in pure battery or off-grid operation, the limit is 1.200 watts, which is why high-performance kettles, heaters, or air conditioners cannot be used in every operating state.

Intelligent control via app and smart meter

An integrated energy management system is designed to automatically optimize self-consumption. According to BLUETTI, the system takes into account factors such as solar forecasts, weather data, and dynamic electricity tariffs.

The app allows you to set charging and discharging times, so that the battery can be charged during the day with solar power or at night with cheap grid power, and discharged again during expensive tariff times.

For consumption-based control, the Balco 260 supports various smart meters and smart home systems such as the BLUETTI Magnetic S Meter, the Shelly 3EM and Shelly Pro 3EM or the everHome EcoTracker.

Easy plug and play installation

The Balco module is designed for simple plug-and-play installation; it is simply connected to the solar panel and plugged into a standard household outlet. An electrician is not required.

The modules are IP65-rated, meaning they are protected against dust and water jets, making them suitable for outdoor use. BLUETTI specifies an operating temperature range of -20 to +50 degrees Celsius. The main unit measures 476 × 260 × 336,3 millimeters. The BC-260 auxiliary battery has the same footprint but is shorter at 247,5 millimeters. The manufacturer's warranty is five years.

Which package is worth it?

The base model, priced at €889, is particularly attractive for buyers who already own compatible solar panels. Compared to the regular recommended retail price, this represents a discount of approximately 36 percent.

The starter kit, priced at €1.059, is likely the most attractive option for most newcomers. For just €170 more than the main unit, it includes two 450W solar modules. This provides a nearly complete system with 900W of installed module power and 2,56 kWh of storage.

The SolarMax kit, priced at €1.289, contains four 450W modules, providing a total output of 1.800W. This relatively high module output can be particularly beneficial in less than ideal orientation, cloudy conditions, or during winter. However, sufficient space on a balcony, patio, garage, or in the garden is required.

For higher nighttime consumption, the SavingMax kit is available for €1.989. It combines four solar modules with an additional BC-260 battery and achieves a storage capacity of 5,12 kWh.
