What's in the box
The Bluedio R + Legend is delivered in a beautiful box, which already gives an idea of the first functions. In addition to the headphones, the scope of delivery also includes a fabric bag for transporting the headphones, a Mico USB charging cable, an AUX audio cable and an operating manual.
Equipped with energy-saving Bluetooth 4.0 standard, the Bluedio R + Legend offers long-lasting music playback. In addition, the headset is aptX compatible. AptX is a special codec that ensures a more stable and lossless Bluetooth connection and also significantly improves the sound quality. To be able to use this codec, however, you need an aptX compatible playback device.
An NFC chip is also integrated. This makes it easier to establish a connection between headphones and NFC compatible playback device. A hands-free function enables calls to be received. Calls can also be made using the integrated microphone.
Music can also be played via an integrated SD card slot. The headphones can also be connected to the PC with a USB cable. A connection via an AUX audio cable is also possible.
The housing of the Bluedio R + Legend is partly made entirely of hard plastic. The auricles and the padding of the temple are made of imitation leather. In addition, the auricles are padded with foam on the inside. Externally, the headphones look cheap at first glance, but the workmanship is convincing overall.
When I started using the headphones for the first time, I wasn't sure what to think of the sound. The bass sounded very strong, but the rest was somehow dull.
In the operating instructions it was finally pointed out that the R + Legend has integrated a total of 3 equalizer profiles. After a short time I found the perfect profile for myself. The mids and highs could now be heard very clearly and yet the strong bass fit very well into the overall picture. Switching between different styles of music works well. Regardless of whether you listen to electronic music or prefer classical music, the equalizer profiles do justice to numerous musical genres.
The comfort is very good. There are no unpleasant places. The ear cups sit well on average ears and the headphones feel comfortable even after prolonged wearing time. Unpleasant sweating under the ear cups did not become noticeable during the entire test phase. Due to the very soft ear pads, the Bluedio R + is also ideal for wearers of glasses.
