Blackview PV1000 Max: What the projector offers
The PV1000 Max projects at 1.920 × 1.080 pixels and, according to the manufacturer, supports the playback and decoding of 4K content. Its brightness is specified at 1.000 ANSI lumens, making it, on paper, one of the brighter projectors in its class.
For the best picture, a room that is at least partially darkened is recommended. In daylight, the perceived image quality depends heavily on the projection size, screen, and ambient light.
Blackview specifies a contrast ratio of 1.500:1. HDR10 and HLG are also supported.
VIDAA OS with Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+
A major advantage over many inexpensive Android projectors is the pre-installed VIDAA OS. This Linux-based smart TV system is designed to provide access to officially supported streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Apple TV.
This means that an additional Fire TV Stick or Chromecast is not necessarily required for the most important streaming services.
Inside, a MediaTek MT9660 quad-core chip powers the device, supported by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
Autofocus and automatic keystone correction
For the simplest possible setup, the Blackview PV1000 Max features a TOF sensor and several automatic image optimizations.
These include:
- automatic focus
- automatic keystone correction
- obstacle detection
- automatic image adjustment
- Wall color matching
- Glare protection or person detection
These features can be particularly useful if the projector is frequently moved. Instead of manually readjusting focus and image geometry after each position change, the PV1000 Max is designed to handle most of this automatically.
360° gimbal for wall and ceiling
The projector sits on an integrated 360° swivel stand. This allows the image to be projected not only onto a wall in the traditional way, but also onto the ceiling, for example.
This makes the PV1000 Max particularly interesting for bedrooms, motorhomes, or camping. Blackview specifies a possible screen size of 40 to 150 inches.
With dimensions of approximately 264 × 202 × 219 mm and a weight of about 3,5 kg, the projector is more portable than truly compact.
Dolby Audio and Bluetooth speaker mode
Two integrated 6-watt speakers handle the sound. Dolby Audio is also supported.
The PV1000 Max can also be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker. A smartphone can be paired via Bluetooth 5.0 without necessarily needing to be playing a projection.
Blackview states that the operating noise level of the cooling system is a maximum of approximately 29 dB(A) at 25 °C.
Connections and wireless transmission
The following connections are available for external devices:

- 1 x 3,5 mm audio jack
- AC power connection
The projector communicates wirelessly via WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. For screen mirroring, it supports, among other things, AirPlay 2, Miracast and DLNA.
Also included are a game mode, parental controls and voice control via VIDAA Voice.
