 Update: In addition to the Blackview BV6000, there is now also the BV6000S. The Blackview BV6000S is a slimmed-down version of the powerful outdoor smartphone and uses a MediaTek MTK6735 processor. This quad-core processor belongs to an older processor generation and clocks with 1.3GHz. The RAM is 2GB and the internal memory is 16GB. The camera resolution has also been reduced to 8 megapixels on this model. However, the information on the display is identical, and the design has remained unchanged.

Blackview BV6000

The Blackview BV6000 is one of the few and also the first outdoor smartphones that is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC (MTK6755). This fast octa-core processor clocks with a maximum clock rate of 2.0GHz and thus enables a high-performance, multitasking-capable overall system. In addition, the BV6000 has a whopping 3GB of RAM, the internal memory is 32GB and can be expanded by a further 32GB with an SD memory card. The Blackview Outdoor Smartphone also surprises with the operating system. The device is delivered with Android 6.0, currently the latest Android version. It is not known to what extent this is Stock Android. However, teaser images suggest that at least one custom theme is being used.

The display of the solid outdoor smartphone has a diagonal of 4.7 inches and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The touchscreen supports multitouch with a maximum of 5 simultaneous entries. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 additionally protects the display from intense impacts and scratches. In order to adequately protect the case, Blackview has opted for a combination of polycarbonate and glass fiber reinforced plastic. The external protective cover, however, is made of TPU. The protective cover is slightly open at the side. There are numerous function keys here, which are embedded in a visually appealing aluminum frame. In addition to the usual volume rocker and the power button, the Blackview BV6000 also has an SOS button, a photo button and a PPT button.

The main camera of the smartphone has a resolution of 13 megapixels, the front camera with 5 megapixels. Due to the waterproof housing (IP68), underwater recordings can also be made. Both image sensors come from OmniVision. In addition, the main camera has an auto focus and an LED flash. The f-number is f / 2.0, the wide angle is 85 °.

The Blackview BV6000 also has a lot to offer in terms of network standards. 2G through 3G up to 4G are possible. LTE Band 20, which, depending on the network provider, appears to be inevitable for extensive LTE use, is supported. Furthermore, the outdoor smartphone has built in numerous sensors. WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 are of course available. An NFC sensor, GPS / GLONASS and an e-compass are also integrated. The battery of the BV6000 outdoor smartphone has a capacity of 4500mAh and, according to the teaser pictures, has the latest Fast Charge technology, which enables fast charging.

There are no reviews of the Blackview BV6000 yet. The official shipping date falls on May 31, 2016. So it will be interesting to see how the new Blackview Outdoor Smartphone actually performs.
