Why a carbon monoxide detector is essential
Carbon monoxide is produced by the incomplete combustion of gas, wood, coal, or oil. Causes can include defective heaters, blocked chimneys, or improperly operated furnaces. Even a grill in an enclosed space or a running engine in the garage can quickly become dangerous.
The gas prevents oxygen transport in the blood. Even moderate concentrations cause headaches and dizziness. High concentrations can be fatal within minutes. A CO detector is therefore the only reliable way to detect the danger in time.
Precise detection tailored to the danger level
Inside the Andyssey carbon monoxide detector is an electrochemical sensor that detects carbon monoxide levels between 30 and 999 ppm. The reaction depends on the concentration.
| CO concentration | Alarm reaction |
| 30 ppm | No alarm 120 minutes ago |
| 50 ppm | Alarm within 60 to 90 minutes |
| 100 ppm | Alarm within 10 to 40 minutes |
| 300 ppm | Alarm in under 3 minutes |
Low levels also occur in urban air or smoking areas and don't trigger unnecessary alarms. Medium levels can be harmful to health if exposed for long periods and lead to a timely warning. High levels are acutely dangerous, which is why the device must react particularly quickly in these cases.
The alarm sound is clearly audible at 85 dB, even when you are sleeping or in another room.
Real-time monitoring with storage function
The LCD display shows the current carbon monoxide concentration and saves the highest measured value. This allows you to check retrospectively whether a critical level was present.
A three-color LED indicates the device's status. Green indicates normal operation. Yellow signals a malfunction or low battery. Red warns of elevated CO concentrations.
Easy installation and 10 years of security
The detector is ready for immediate use. Thanks to its compact design, the Andyssey detector can be discreetly integrated into any environment. It can be placed anywhere, such as on a bedside table or shelf, or mounted on the wall using the included mounting kit. The alarm can be tested at the touch of a button.
It is ideal for placement in common rooms or sleeping areas, but not directly next to open flames or ventilation shafts. It is suitable for use in apartments, vacation homes, hotels, offices, mobile homes, or boats. It is also a useful addition to security in student accommodation or guest rooms.
The built-in long-life battery ensures a service life of up to ten years. Replacement is not required. This ensures the detector operates reliably and maintenance-free for years.
