Amazfit Balance 2: Technology update for the multisport smartwatch
Almost two years after the launch of the first Balance, Amazfit is releasing an upgrade to its multisport smartwatch with the Balance 2. The case retains its appearance, is still made of aluminum, and weighs a mere 42 grams.
There are some improvements in terms of hardware. The AMOLED display remains at 1,5 inches, but is a bit brighter at 2.000 nits and is now protected by scratch-resistant sapphire glass.
The internal technology has also been revised. The new BioTracker 6.0 promises to measure heart rate, VO₂ max, HRV, sleep, stress, and recovery times even more precisely.
Additionally, six additional sensors are built in, including a barometer for water sports, such as free diving up to 45 meters. In total, the watch now supports 170 sports modes, including HYROX, golf with 40 pre-installed course maps, and numerous water sports.
With the Balance 2, Amazfit also introduced a new version of Zepp OS. Zepp OS 5 is even more focused on sports and offers, among other features:
- adjustable font sizes,
- Gesture control for notifications,
- Voice commands for training goals,
- optimized screen and key locks for different sports,
- as well as mini-apps for local music, podcasts or training data.
Amazfit claims a battery life of up to 21 days in normal use or 39 hours with active GPS. Maps can be downloaded offline to the watch, including city maps, topographic maps, ski slopes, and golf course maps. Payment is possible via Zepp Pay in conjunction with Curve and select Mastercard banks.

Helio Strap: Minimalist, but no less precise
With the Helio Strap, Amazfit introduces a smartwatch without a display. The focus is on continuous, sensor-supported monitoring of exertion and recovery, for example, in sports where a smartwatch isn't permitted or practical. The strap weighs just 20 grams, is designed to last up to 10 days in normal use (25 days in power-saving mode), and measures around the clock:
- Heart rate and resting HR,
- HRV,
- SpO₂,
- Sleep quality and stress.
The new BioCharge Energy Score provides real-time information about your current energy level, unlike the previous Readiness Score. The calculation is based on a combination of sleep, activity, daytime rest, and stress. So, if you want to do a spontaneous workout in the afternoon, you can immediately see whether your body is ready or should take a break.
With 27 training modes and a synchronous connection to the Zepp app (also in parallel with the Balance 2), the bracelet can be easily integrated into existing workouts, either on its own or as a supplement to the smartwatch.
