Amazfit Bip 5 Unity
Everything is new in May - That's probably what Zepp Health thought, too, and they quickly re-released the Amazfit Bip 5. The most noticeable change to the normal Bip 5 is the change from a plastic to a stainless steel middle frame, which makes the watch appear more high-quality.
At the same time, the dimensions and weight have been slightly reduced without compromising on protection against dust and water (IP68).
As far as hardware is concerned, the Bip 5 Unity has the same features as the standard model. That means a 1,91-inch TFT display with a resolution of 320 x 380 pixels (250 ppi) and a 300 mAh battery that lasts up to 11 days with typical use, 5 days with intensive use and up to 26 days in power saving mode endures.
However, the Unity version also lacks its own GNSS module, so a permanent connection to the smartphone is required for precise positioning during sports.
However, there was an upgrade in the software. Instead of Zepp OS 2.0, the Bip 5 Unity runs the new Zepp OS 3.0, which was first introduced with the Amazfit Balance. The operating system focuses on health features and offers a larger selection of apps, games and watch faces.
Athletes can choose from over 120 training modes, while a BioTracker PPG sensor continuously measures heart rate and blood oxygen saturation.
The Amazfit Bip 5 Unity is now available for 69,90 euros and, thanks to its attractive price and solid features, will particularly appeal to smartwatch beginners.
