The ADO A20+ (Plus) series is this year's new edition of the ADO A20 electric bikes. Most of the changes are in the details, because the foldable design of the predecessor has been completely adopted. The ADO A20+ can be folded to a handy 90 x 43 x 70 cm. The slightly larger ADO A20F+, which differs from the ADO A20+ only in the tires (fat bike), can be folded down to 98 x 45 x 77 cm. Commuters can therefore easily transport both models in the trunk. Or you can certainly find a place for the folding bike in the office.
Probably the most interesting innovation of the ADO A20+ series is the introduction of the EU version. The e-bike now also has a CE mark, i.e. it corresponds to the EU directives and can be operated legally on the road in most European countries. In Germany, too, the EU version, throttled to 250W and driving at a maximum speed of 25 km/h, can be legally driven on public roads.
The international model of the ADO A20+ has an output of up to 350W and drives at speeds of up to 30 km/h. The ADO A20F+ is even more powerful in the international version, with a power of 500W and a speed of 35 km/h. However, both bikes then no longer meet the local road traffic requirements, which is why you should only consider the EU version.
The 36V 10.4AH battery of the ADO A20+ or A20F+ enables a range of between 40 and 80 km. How far you get with this depends on many factors. If you drive purely electrically, less than 40 km are realistic. In pedelec mode, i.e. with pedal support, it is up to 80 km. The weight of the driver, driving behavior and terrain also play an important role. Experience has shown that a battery of this size should have a range of approx. 20-25 km. The charging time is 6-7 hours.
What else is there? Well, both ADO A20+ models rely on ADO's G-Drive control system, which ensures efficient interaction between motor, battery and sensor. If you like to pedal, the Shimano gears provide a total of 7 gears. Disc brakes on the front and rear wheels ensure short and safe braking distances. Speed, battery status and riding mode can always be kept in view via a small LC display on the handlebars. A suspension fork and a sprung seat post improve ground contact.
